Benefit GALifornia Blush: Review and Swatches
When it comes to drawing inspirations from summer vacation locales, California is always a good pick because who doesn't love sunny beaches and awesome theme parks? Well, for Summer 2017, Benefit Cosmetics has a brand new product called the GALifornia Blush ($38 CAD) and it's all shades of sun and fun. To see some swatches and read my review of the blush, click......

Packaging:
Like traditional Benefit cheek powders, the GALifornia Blush is housed in an adorable cardboard box equipped with a mini powder brush. The box is printed with the most colorful artwork decorated with shiny gold embossings. You get 5g of powder inside and it is pressed with the design of a radiating sun. The blush has an overspray of gold sheen on the surface but that wears away after a light swipe.

Formulation:
With a super light and fresh fruity-floral scent (with notes of grapefruit and vanilla, according to Benefit), the GALifornia Blush is the perfect summer coral. The color is initially very golden due to the gold shimmer overspray but after that layer wears off, the color becomes a glowy coral with a very subtle sheen.

The formulation is very soft, silky, and finely-milled. The pigmentation is semi-sheer but highly blendable and the color has a nice wear that's fairly resistant to fading. I'm reading a lot of reviews saying that GALifornia looks a lot like Coralista from Benefit but I don't actually own the original Coralista and the one I got in the Cheeky Sweet Spot holiday palette definitely seems a lot more orange than the original Coralista. Nevertheless, from swatches I've seen online, although Coralista is similar in color to GALifornia, it is a lot more shimmery. Bella Bamba is another similar shade and I'd say that one is slightly pinker and more shimmery. All in all, GALifornia is similar but not identical to Coralista or Bella Bamba, so if you want a less shimmery version of the two, GALifornia is a good option.
