Although we had just welcomed the arrival of summer, I am already feeling the heat! So today, I wanted to share with you a great skincare brand and its new suncare offerings for the season. Made with 100% vegetarian, cruelty-free ingredients, Alba Botanica offers a full skincare and hair care range. For 2017, the brand is introducing two new spray sunscreens that provide broad-spectrum UVA/UVB protection. Alba Botanica Sport Continuous Spray Sunscreen SPF 50+ & Kids Continuous Spray Sunscreen SPF 50+ ($16.99 CAD each):
This is a duo of chemical sunscreens made with active ingredients of avobenzone, homosalate, octinoxate, octisalate, and octocrylene. Both are housed in 177ml eco-friendly, air-powered aerosol cans that contain no chemical propellants. The sunscreen dispenses as a clear liquid, the aloe juice and algae-infused formulation is non-greasy and has virtually no fragrance. I personally love how quickly the product applies and absorbs as compared to traditional sunscreen lotions and the formulation is water and sweat resistant!
Alba Botanica Facial Sunscreen Lotion SPF 40 ($9.99 CAD):
Formulated with glycerin, lavender extract, and green tea extract, this is a chemical sunscreen lotion made especially for the face. Just like the two spray sunscreens, the product is scent-free. The formulation comes out white but blends to a streak-free finish. Although the texture is pretty lightweight and quick-absorbing, it leaves behind a slightly greasy residue on my combination skin. Therefore, it's probably more suitable for normal to dry skin.
