Sally Hansen + Crayola Collection: Review and Swatches
For Fall 2017, Sally Hansen is gearing up for the back-to-school season with a very special collaboration with Crayola. Inspired by the classic Crayola crayon colors, the Sally Hansen + Crayola Insta-Dri Collection ($5.59 CAD) features 12 fun and colorful shades. To see some swatches and read my review of each, click......

501 Wild Strawberry:
A bright red with a hint of pink, this shade is deliciously pigmented and creamy. I used two coats for the swatches below.

510 Scarlet:
This is a bright red with a slight orange tint. The formulation felt really smooth and pigmented but judging from the swatches, there seems to be a bit of patchiness even with two coats.

502 Sunset Orange:
A bright sunny orange, this shade is sheerer than expected. However, with two coats, the finish is pretty nice and even.

505 Dandelion:
Yellow nail polishes are notoriously difficult to apply but Dandelion is actually pretty smooth and pigmented. The formulation is not superb by any means but I was able to get an even coverage with just two coats.

506 Granny Smith Apple:
One of my favorites from this line, Granny Smith Apple is a beautiful grass green with a rich and pigmented formulation. I used two coats for the swatches below.

507 Cerulean:
Another favorite of mine, this is a gorgeous medium blue. Again, the formulation is buttery smooth and very pigmented!

513 Purple Heart:
A cool-tone purple, Purple Heart is also a rich and pigmented shade. I used two coats for the swatches below.

508 Vivid Violet:
A deep eggplant purple, Vivid Violet is another nice and pigmented color. I personally feel that this and Purple Heart are a bit too similar and we could have used another green or a black in this collection instead.

511 Razzmatazz:
Another favorite of mine, this is a bright warm pink. The formulation is very pigmented and creamy; I used two coats for the swatches below.

504 Carnation Pink:
This is an eye-catching barbie pink. The formulation is rich and pigmented; I used two coats for the swatches below.

509 White:
Similar to yellow polishes, whites are also notoriously difficult to formulate. This one is quite pigmented but unfortunately thick. I used two coats and although the coverage is opaque, the finish is a bit streaky and uneven. With that said, whites are rarely worn on their own so this one works perfectly fine for nail art and stamping purposes.

Sally Hansen + Crayola | Back to School Crayon Nail Art
Because the colors in this collection are so fun and bright, I couldn't help but attempt a little nail art by replicating the signature wavy Crayloa stripe. Because the collection doesn't have a black polish, I used one from my regular stash but the rest of the colors are all from this collection. From thumb to pinky, I used Vivid Violet, Wild Strawberry, Granny Smith Apple, and Dandelion. This took a lot longer than expected because drawing neat stripes are crazy difficult with nail polish but I'm super happy with how it came out!
