Described as "your skin's very own silk pajamas", the Chanel Le Lift Skin-Recovery Sleep Mask ($145 CAD) is a smoothing and firming anti-aging sleeping mask designed to provide the skin with its best night's sleep. Thanks to the silk proteins that cocoon the complexion, the mask provides "targeted action" to boost firmness. So how well does it work? Read my review to find out......
Packaged in a simple and elegant 75ml squeezable tube, the Le Lift Skin-Recovery Sleep Mask is a nighttime sleeping mask designed for the face, neck, and decollete. With a lightweight gel texture and a pleasant, subtle floral scent, the mask is formulated with a special ingredient called 3.5-DA. A Chanel-exclusive botanical extract, 3.5-DA inhibits microRNAs responsible for aging and stimulates the production of youth proteins (p63 and sirtuin 1) to improve skin firmness and elasticity. Additionally, the formulation is infused with silk proteins designed to produce softer, plumper skin.
To use, apply over cleansed and toned skin with a circular, pinching motion. The mask is very smooth and easy to spread. It's rather lightweight but not as moisturizing as I would have preferred. Upon waking up in the morning, my skin definitely feels firmer and smoother but it also feels a bit dry. Chanel doesn't provide instructions to pair the sleeping mask with a night cream but I personally recommend using one to ensure proper hydration.
Overall, this is a nice and lightweight firming sleeping mask. I think it works well at tightening the face and neck but the formulation is not super hydrating so it's best used with a moisturizer.
