L'Oreal | Paradise Enchanted Collection: Review and Swatches
For Summer 2018, L'Oreal is elevating our senses with a brand new peach-scented makeup collection. Full of warm, glowy peach and rose gold nudes, the Paradise Enchanted Collection introduces a 12-shade eyeshadow palette, two new blushes, two new liquid eyeliners, and an exciting mascara primer. L'Oreal | Paradise Enchanted Scented Eyeshadow Palette
L'Oreal | Paradise Enchanted Scented Eyeshadow Palette ($22.99 CAD for 7 g):
Featuring 12 wearable neutrals, this is a gorgeous eyeshadow palette infused with a sweet peach fragrance. The smell is actually quite subtle. Unlike the Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette, the peach scent here is only detectable when you get really close to the palette. It's a little disappointing because I personally love heavily fragranced powders but for those who don't like scented makeup, this palette might not actually bother them. The plastic pink and clear packaging is not flimsy but it's certainly cheaper than what I expect for drugstore palette that costs $23.

Nevertheless, the eyeshadows are very impressive. You get one satin, five mattes, and six shimmers. The color selection is great as you get everything from your matte transition colors and bright, shimmery highlights. The texture is surprisingly fine and silky and all the shades, with the exception of one of the mattes (the pale creamy peach, third color in the photo above), are beautifully pigmented. If you love peachy nudes, then this palette is worth checking out. The packaging feels lackluster for the price but the wonderful formulation makes up for it!

L'Oreal | Paradise Enchanted Fruit-Scented Blush: Review and Swatches
L'Oreal | Paradise Enchanted Fruit-Scented Blush in "Fantastical" & "Bashful"
L'Oreal | Paradise Enchanted Fruit-Scented Blush ($18.99 CAD for 9 g each):
Available in two shades, the Paradise Enchanted Fruit-Scented Blush comes in a very interesting clear and rose gold plastic compact. I say interesting because the compact actually has two tiers. The first holds the actual blush pan and the second simply has a mirror on the underside of the compact divider. It looks like the second compartment was designed to hold a mini travel brush but these blushes came with none.

Like the eyeshadow palette, the blushes have a subtle peach scent that's only detectable when you sniff up close. "Bashful" looks a little dull in the pan but it's actually a beautiful warm golden peach that can also be used as a highlighter. "Fantastical" is a stunning coral peach. Similar to "Bashful", it's also infused with a subtle hint of golden sheen. In terms of formulation, both blushes are silky, pigmented, and super creamy. They blend beautifully, giving the cheeks a healthy, sunny glow.

L'Oreal | Voluminous Lash Paradise Liquid Eyeliner: Review and Swatches
L'Oreal | Voluminous Lash Paradise Liquid Eyeliner
L'Oreal | Voluminous Lash Paradise Liquid Eyeliner ($12.99 CAD for 1.5 ml each):
Available in a classic shiny "Black" and a high-sheen metallic "Rose Gold", the Voluminous Lash Paradise Liquid Eyeliner comes with a tapered felt tip applicator. As you can see below, the felt tip is not very fine so it's hard to get a super precise wing and because the material is quite flexible, the tip is prone to bending (the black one actually came bent). Applicator aside, the formulation is pretty good. "Rose Gold" is super pigmented and it sets to a smudge-proof finish. The metallic particles are incredibly fine so the finish is almost chrome-like.

"Black", on the other hand, is also very inky and intense. It's opaque in one swipe and dries down quickly. The finish is a bit shiny which I don't love but it stays put all day. The waterproof formulation removes in chunks so it's easy to take off. With that said, the eyeliner does shrivel and crack a bit so extra care needs to be taken during application to ensure a smooth, even coverage. Lastly, it's worth noting that unlike the rest of the collection, these eyeliners are not scented.

L'Oreal | Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara Primer: Review
L'Oreal | Voluminous Lash Paradise Primer
L'Oreal | Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara Primer ($13.99 CAD for 8 ml):
Released last summer, the Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara (reviewed here)  was a big hit so L'Oreal has now made a primer to go with it. Formulated with jojoba and rose oil, the floral-scented Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara Primer comes with the same hourglass-shaped wand as the Lash Paradise Mascara. The formulation has a milky pink appearance and I find that it dilutes the pigments of the mascara. Instead of a straight black, the mascara appears more brown-gray on top of the primer. The primer does in fact provide volume but it also weighs down the lashes. Additionally, the formulation dries down to a very tacky finish which hypothetically helps adhere mascara to the lashes. In reality, however, the waxy texture just makes everything super clumpy and as someone who needs separated, defined lashes, that's a big no-no.

Below is a look I created using this collection. I'm wearing the Paradise Enchanted Palette on the eyes paired with the Voluminous Lash Paradise Liquid Eyeliner in "Black". I also used the "Rose Gold" liner on the lower lashline for a pop of shine. For the cheeks, I used both "Fantastical" and "Bashful". For the lips I am wearing "Panko" from bareMinerals.

Overall, this is a pretty solid collection. In terms of concept, the peach theme is a little overplayed but I'm super impressed with the blush and eyeshadow formulation. Both eyeliners are also worth checking out thanks to their pigmented and long-lasting formulation but the Mascara Primer definitely fell short of expectations.
