Tarte | Creaseless Concealer: Review and Swatches
Along with the new shade additions to the Amazonian Clay Foundation for Summer 2018, Tarte has also revamped their Creaseless Concealer ($32 CAD for 6.4 g) range! Now available in 30 shades and packaged with a convenient doe-foot applicator, the same creaseless formulation promises a full-coverage that's brightening, hydrating, and long-lasting. Packaging:
Instead of the old squeeze tube packaging, the new Tarte Creaseless Concealer comes in a matte rectangular tube paired with a pretty purple cap embossed with pink and gold flowers. The doe-foot applicator has a slanted and tapered tip for a precise and mess-free application.

Formulation:
Now available in 30 shades, the Creaseless Concealer is formulated with maracuja (passion fruit) oil, vitamin C, and vitamin E. With a fairly thick texture, the concealer is difficult to spread and blend. Because a lot of manipulation is needed to achieve a somewhat even coverage, the finish ends up being quite streaky (see face swatches below). Additionally, the concealer doesn't fully set and feels tacky to touch. There's a noticeable sheen and the pigments are prone to transferring. Therefore, a powder is needed to prevent smudging. In terms of coverage, the concealer is buildable to full but as mentioned, unless a lot is applied, the finish looks streaky. I have swatched some of the lighter shades. See below for a shade description of each.

10N Fair: Very light ivory with a neutral undertone.
10B Fair Beige: Very light ivory with a pink undertone.
20N Light: Light beige with a neutral undertone.
20B Light Beige: Light beige with a subtle pink undertone.
20S Light Sand: Light beige with a yellow undertone.
22H Light Honey: Light-medium beige with a warm undertone.

Below I am wearing the shade "20S Light Sand". It's just a touch too light for my skin tone (NC15) but suitable for brightening the eye area. In terms of wear, the concealer did in fact remain crease-free although admittedly, creasing is not an issue I struggle with a lot (at least not on the undereye area). With the heavier, non-setting formulation, however, the concealer just doesn't seem to cling very well to the skin and fades slowly as the day goes on. Overall, this thick, oil-based formulation is simply too rich for normal to oily skin, However, because it's emollient, it probably won't accentuate dry patches or wrinkles, making it suitable for those struggling with dry or aging skin.
