Lise Watier | Teint Multi-Fini Compact Foundation: Review and Swatches
As someone with oily skin, powder foundation is my life and soul. Therefore, I was overjoyed when I learned that Lise Watier (one of my favorite and vastly underrated brands) released a new powder foundation called the Teint Multi-Fini Compact Foundation ($38 CAD for 11 g). Available in 12 shades, the formulation can be built to a full coverage with the two different applicators included. To see some swatches and read my review, click.....

Packaging:
The Lise Watier Teint Multi-Fini Compact Foundation comes in a sleek, reflective gunmetal compact divided into two tiers. The top holds the actual pressed powder and the lower compartment comes with two applicators. The thin flocked powder puff is designed to provide a medium coverage while the sponge applicator, when dampened, provides a full coverage. Obviously, the powder can also be applied using a brush but that gives only a sheer finish. I personally only apply powders using a brush so I found the included applicators a bit extraneous. The compact would have been much slimmer without the extra compartment but I understand that many people like to touch up their makeup on-the-go so the applicators do serve their purpose.

Formulation:
Free of oils, parabens and infused with vitamin C and E, the Teint Multi-Fini Compact Foundation is rich and very pigmented. The powder is not the silkiest or softest I've felt but I like how it smoothes pores and reduces shine without adding excessive texture or cakiness. The formulation keeps oil at bay but it's not super drying. I do notice some clinging around my brow area but the foundation wears fairly well. I'm pretty set in my ways when it comes to powder application and will only use a brush to apply. Therefore, the multi-finish application of this powder is lost on me.

When applied with a brush over bare skin, the foundation provides a sheer, matte finish, perfect for days when I only want a very natural coverage. However, when worn over concealer or liquid foundation, the Teint Multi-Fini really amps up the coverage to give the skin a flawless look. The range is available in 12 shades and I have here the color "Ivory", which is a light neutral ivory that works well for my NC15 skin tone. Overall, I'm a fan! I'm quite picky when it comes to powder foundations but the Lise Watier Teint Multi-Fini Compact Foundation provides just the right amount of coverage. The formulation blurs and mattifies without looking heavy or cakey and because it's oil-free, I would recommend it for those with normal to oily skin.
