Marc Jacobs | Accomplice Instant Blurring Beauty Powder & Accomplice Concealer & Touch-Up Stick: Review and Swatches
With its beloved Re(marc)able Full Cover Foundation and Coconut Face Primer, Marc Jacobs has slowly built up an impressive complexion range over the years. To help create an even more perfect look, two new products have been added to the collection. So today, I want to share with you my full review and swatches (including some before and after shots) of the new Accomplice Instant Blurring Beauty Powder ($59 CAD) and Accomplice Concealer & Touch-Up Stick ($38 CAD). Marc Jacobs | Accomplice Concealer & Touch-Up Stick ($38 CAD for 5 g):
Housed in a convenient twist-up and retractable stick form, this is a cream concealer with a very rich and pigmented formulation. I'm generally not a fan of cream foundations or concealers due to their tacky and heavy finish so I was initially skeptical. However, despite its creamy formulation and full coverage, the Accomplice Concealer sets quickly to a lightweight, almost powder-dry finish. The formulation is not one that you can easily sheer out as it really clings to the skin but it's amazingly easy to blend for a natural finish. I literally dab it where I need coverage and then use a foundation brush to smudge out the edges for a full but natural coverage. In terms of wear, the performance varies; there is minimal creasing under the eyes but there is some fading around oilier parts of the face by the end of the day.

There are 17 shades and I have here "10 Fair", a pale ivory with a cool undertone. The shade is a touch light for me but it works well to brighten the eye area. However, considering that this is the lightest shade in the range, those with very pale skin may not find a suitable shade. As you can see in the swatches below, the concealer completely wipes out any discoloration. The concealer has a natural matte finish and with a light dusting of powder, it looks surprisingly natural. My only critique of the product is the amount you get; I've only been using this sparingly every day for about two weeks and have gone through about a third of the stick. The $38 price tag is not too steep so I guess I can't complain too much.

Marc Jacobs | Accomplice Instant Blurring Beauty Powder ($59 CAD for 10 g):
Packaged in a sleek black compact with a snazzy built-in travel brush hidden away in its lid, the Accomplice Instant Blurring Beauty Powder is a sheer setting powder infused with a hint of pearl pigments designed to diffuse light. When I first saw and swatched the product, I was pretty hesitant because the powder looks extremely shimmery. On the back of my hand, it almost looked like a subtle highlighter. Fortunately, though, the pearl pigments were a lot more subtle when applied with a powder brush. There is still a hint of shimmer when examined up close but the effect is on par with the likes of Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder or Guerlain Meteorites. With that said, if you are not a fan of any shimmers or sparkles in your setting powder, it's probably best to skip this.

Four shades are available and I have here the lightest one. "50 Ingénue" is a light sand with a warm undertone. The coverage is minimal but the texture is super silky and lightweight. The powder gives a soft mattifying effect without caking and thanks to the pearl pigments, it does provide a subtle glow to the complexion. I applied it over the Accomplice Concealer and as you can see, it adds a visible warmth.

Overall, this is a lovely complexion duo from Marc Jacobs! The Accomplice Concealer is a winner in my book thanks to its incredible coverage, easy application, and natural finish. When it comes to the Accomplice Powder, however, it doesn't quite meet my needs as I prefer a higher coverage, fully matte powder foundation. However, if you want a natural finishing powder that also adds a subtle glow, it's definitely worth checking out!
