Glow Recipe | Avocado Melt Retinol Sleeping Mask: Review
Founded back in 2014, Glow Recipe is a K-beauty inspired company that offers a curated range of clean, fruit-powered skincare products. Within the last couple of years, the brand has garnered a large following thanks to its innovative formulations and adorable packaging. So today I wanted to share with you my experience with one of their star products, the Avocado Melt Retinol Sleeping Mask (C$66 for 70 ml). To read my review, click......

Glow Recipe | Avocado Melt Retinol Sleeping Mask
Housed in a pebbly glass jar resembling an avocado fruit, the Glow Recipe Avocado Melt Retinol Sleeping Mask is essentially a nourishing night cream formulated with avocado oil and avocado fruit extract rich in vitamin C and vitamin E. With a thick but easy to spread texture, the cream also contains encapsulated, time-release retinol that reduces fine lines and uneven skin tone. If you take a look at the ingredient list below, the Avocado Melt Retinol Sleeping Mask contains quite an impressive array of skin-loving botanical and aquatic extracts (ex. green tea, ginger root, algae) that would take too long to go through individually. However, a few more key ingredients I want to highlight are the hyaluronic acid and squalane for hydration, and the gluconolactone (a polyhydroxy acid/PHA) for gentle exfoliation.

Glow Recipe | Avocado Melt Retinol Sleeping Mask
With a very subtle fragrance, the Avocado Melt Retinol Sleeping Mask feels instantly soothing and hydrating. Although intended for normal to dry skin, the formulation works well with my oily, combination skin. There's no greasy residue and unlike most sleeping masks, the formulation is very breathable as it doesn't contain any silicones. Because I am fairly sensitive to retinol, I've been using this only a couple times a week. Each morning after use, I've noticed a smoother, softer complexion with no irritation or peeling. Glow Recipe also recommends using the sleeping mask as a wash-off mask but I personally feel like that's quite wasteful as the encapsulated retinol won't have enough time to work its wonders. Therefore, I recommend using this strictly as a sleeping mask. This is the first product I've tried from Glow Recipe and I am very, very impressed! The formulation is top-notch and the price is reasonable as well for the amount of product you get! Have you tried anything from Glow Recipe? Do you have any recommendations?
