NatureLab. Tokyo | Perfect Shine Shampoo & Conditioner: Review
If you are a long time reader of the blog, you'll know that I'm not super into haircare. Recently, however, I was contacted by the Japanese haircare brand NatureLab. Tokyo and I was instantly intrigued by their minimalist, eye-catching packaging. Inspired by "traditional Japanese beauty rituals and future-forward clean technology", NatureLab. Tokyo offers several curated hair care routines formulated with nutrient-rich botanical stem cells. Cruelty-free and made with no sulfates, parabens, phtalates, and mineral oil, the products are made in Japan and are available in stores and online at Ulta. I'm sharing my reviews of the Perfect Shine Shampoo and Conditioner (US$14 each) today so to read on, click......

NatureLab. Tokyo | Perfect Shine Shampoo (US$14 for 340 ml):
Housed in a plastic bottle shaped like a florence flask found in a chemistry lab, the Perfect Shine Shampoo is designed to increase shine for dull and drab hair. The formulation contains follicle-stimulating argan stem cells, replenishing apple stem cells, antioxidant-rich grape stem cells, shine-boosting pearl extract and platinum fiber, moisturizing hyaluronic acid, and a nourishing blend of argan, baobab, and marula oil. As mentioned above, the formulation is free of sulfates and instead uses alternative surfactants to produce a rich lather. In fact, I find this shampoo to be extra foamy than others I've tried so a little goes a long way. With a subtle scent with notes of almond and violet, the Perfect Shine Shampoo provides a very effective clean without leaving the hair stripped. For lazy groomers like me, the shampoo can be used without a conditioner and my hair still feels silky and smooth. I'm not sure I've noticed a significant increase in shine but I still like how it leaves my hair nice and moisturized.

NatureLab. Tokyo | Perfect Shine Conditioner (US$14 for 340 ml):
Packaged in a bottle identical to that of the shampoo, the Perfect Shine Conditioner contains pretty much all the same key ingredients. The conditioner is lightweight and creamy, providing an instantly smoothing effect. Unfortunately, the formulation does contain silicone, which may be a dealbreaker for some as it can really weight down hair. I've not had that problem yet with the Perfect Shine Conditioner but nevertheless, I don't think I will restock as I am making an effort to cut out silicones in my haircare as they can build-up over time. With that said, if you have no issues with silicones, I think this is a perfectly fine pairing if you want to try out the Perfect Shine Shampoo.
