Papa Recipe | Bombee Honey Mask, Blemish Serum, Noble Rot Lifting Essence & Lifting Ampoule: Review

Disclaimer: The products featured were provided for review.
Recently, the Korean skincare brand called Papa Recipe reached out to me to try out some of their products. Other than seeing their sheet masks down the beauty aisles at my local T&T Supermarket, I don't really know much about the brand. However, as an avid fan of Korean skincare, I happily accepted the offer. As its affectionate name suggests, Papa Recipe was founded in 2012 by a Korean father who created his own skincare recipes to meet the needs of his daughter who struggled with sensitive skin. Now available globally, Papa Recipe offers an extensive lineup of hypoallergenic products for all skin types. Today I have a few products to introduce to you. To read on, click......
Papa Recipe | Bombee Honey Mask: Review
Papa Recipe | Bombee Honey Mask
Papa Recipe | Bombee Honey Mask (US$20 for 10 Sheets):
Probably the bestselling product from Papa Recipe, the Bombee Honey Mask is a sheet mask formulated with honey extract and propolis extract intended to hydrate and brighten the skin. I'm not a fan of sheet masks as I don't like the wet feeling of a serum-soaked sheet draped over my face. Therefore, I'm not the best judge when it comes to sheet masks. With that said, I will still provide an objective review. The Papa Recipe Bombee Honey Mask is a microfiber mask drenched in a lightweight liquid serum (with plenty left in the bag). There is minimal fragrance and the sheet adheres nicely to the face. My skin is left feeling soft and hydrated after removal and the mask serum leaves no sticky or filmy residue. I didn't notice a significant brightening effect but that's not something I would expect from a single application anyways.

Ingredients: Water, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Glyceryl Acrylate/Acrylic Acid Copolymer, Propylene Glycol, PVM/MA Copolymer, Trehalose, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Panthenol, Carbomer, Arginine, Disodium EDTA, Allantoin, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, 1,2-Hexanediol, Caprylyl Glycol, Schizandra Chinensis Fruit Extract, Coptis Japonica Root Extract, Zingiber Officinale (Ginger) Root Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Seed Extract, Acorus Gramineus Root/Stem Extract, Perilla Ocymoides Leaf Extract, Honey Extract, Propolis Extract, Fragrance

Papa Recipe | Blemish Serum (US$25 for 150 ml):
Housed in a generously sized bottle with a pump dispenser, the Blemish Serum from Papa Recipe is a hydrating and smoothing serum formulated with galactomyces ferment filtrate, a yeast byproduct in sake fermentation that brightens and smooths the skin. With a lightweight, slightly viscous consistency, the Papa Recipe Blemish Serum also contains niacinamide to refine the pores and a blend of ten different hyaluronic acids to hydrate the skin. The formulation easily blends on the skin and leaves behind no palpable residue. There is also no discernable fragrance and it layers and mixes well with other products. Although I'm very impressed with the clean ingredients (silicone-free and alcohol-free), I was expecting the serum to contain some more exfoliating ingredients such as AHAs and BHA. Nevertheless, I still think this is a great serum especially given the price per ml. I wouldn't recommend it if you are looking for something that dramatically reduces breakouts or discoloration but it's an excellent option if you want a hydrating and gently smoothing serum.

Ingredients: Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate, Water, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Isopentyldiol, Niacinamide, 1,2-Hexanediol, Bakuchiol, Allantoin, Panthenol, Adenosine, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Hydrolyzed Sodium Hyaluronate, Sodium Benzoate, Sodium Acetylated Hyaluronate, Hydroxypropyltrimonium Hyaluronate, Dimethylsilanol Hyaluronate, Sodium Hyaluronate Crosspolymer, Pentylene Glycol, Hyaluronic Acid, Potassium Hyaluronate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Lactobacillus/Soybean Ferment Extract, Lactobacillus/Punica Granatum Fruit Ferment Extract, Lactobacillus/Acerola Cherry Ferment, Lactobacillus/Wasabia Japonica Root Ferment Extract, Lactobacillus/Hibiscus Sabdariffa Flower Ferment Filtrate, Saccharomyces/Xylinum/Black Tea Ferment, Saccharomyces/Viscum Album (Mistletoe) Ferment Extract, Saccharomyces/Imperata Cylindrica Root Ferment Extract, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Cetearyl Olivate, Sorbitan Olivate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Propanediol, Xanthan Gum, Polyglyceryl-10 Laurate, Disodium EDTA, Glyceryl Acrylate/Acrylic Acid Copolymer, Carbomer, Tromethamine, PVM/MA Copolymer
Papa Recipe | Blemish Serum, Noble Rot Lifting Ampoule & Lifting Essence
Papa Recipe | Noble Rot Lifting Ampoule (US$29 for 30 ml):
Packaged in a small plastic bottle with a twist-to-reveal self-pumping pipette dispenser, the Noble Rot Lifting Ampoule is a bi-phase anti-aging ampoule/serum. The key ingredient of the serum is the extract of grapes fermented by a fungus called Botrytis cinerea (hence the name "noble rot"). It is demonstrated that this fermented grape extract has a multitude of anti-aging properties including increased hydration, increased elasticity, and diminished fine lines. The serum also contains nourishing macadamia oil, hydrating hyaluronic acid, and line-reducing adenosine. With a very runny liquid consistency that feels more like a toner or essence, the Papa Recipe Noble Rot Lifting Ampoule easily spreads on the skin and leaves no greasy residue. I have not noticed any drastic changes in my skin although I am not struggling with too many visible signs of aging just yet. Nevertheless, I do think this is worth trying if you are looking for a very lightweight, silicone-free serum with anti-aging properties.

Ingredients: Botrytis Cinerea/Grape Fruit Ferment Extract, Hydrogenated Polydecene, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Propanediol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Macadamia Integrifolia Seed Oil, Hydrolyzed Glycosaminoglycans, Sodium Hyaluronate, Sodium Hyaluronate Crosspolymer, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Hydroxypropyltrimonium Hyaluronate, Hyaluronic Acid, Sodium Acetylated Hyaluronate, Sodium Chloride, Water, Tocopheryl Acetate, Cellulose Gum, Ethylhexylglycerin, Capryloyl Salicylic Acid, Adenosine, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Dextrin, Gardenia Florida Fruit Extract, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Extract, Benzyl Glycol, Arginine, Carbomer, Alcohol, C12-14 Alketh-12, Poloxamer 407, BHT, Raspberry Ketone, Disodium EDTA

Papa Recipe | Noble Rot Lifting Essence (US$37 for 200 ml):
Formulated with the same fermented grape extract as the Lifting Ampoule, the Noble Rot Lifting Essence is essentially a toner version of the ampoule. With a thin, liquid consistency, the Lifting Essence comes in an adorable plastic bottle with a small opening for shaking out the product. The alcohol-free formulation feels instantly hydrating and aids in the application of whatever you want to layer on next. I think this is a perfectly adequate toner. I will definitely finish the bottle but it's not something I feel compelled to restock.

Ingredients: Water, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin Botrytis Cinerea/Grape Fruit Ferment Extract, 1,2-Hexanediol, Panthenol, Chondrus Crispus Extract, Ethylhexylglycerin, Glyceryl Acrylate/Acrylic Acid Copolymer, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Adenosine, Dipropylene Glycol, PVM/MA Copolymer, Sodium Hyaluronate, Pantolactone, Disodium EDTA
