Olaplex | Nº.7 Bonding Oil: Review
Recently I tried Olaplex for the first time (read about it here) but was slightly underwhelmed with the No. 3 Hair Perfector, No. 4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo, and No. 5 Bond Maintenance Conditioner. However, I wanted to give the brand another chance since it has such widespread acclaim, so I thought I'd try something different from the product range. The Olaplex No.7 Bonding Oil (C$41 for 30 ml or C$73.80 for 60 ml) is a nourishing hair oil that promises "shine, softness, and color vibrancy". Designed for all hair types, the oil also offers heat protection and breakage reduction. To read my thoughts and experience with the product, click......

Olaplex | No.7 Bonding Oil
Housed in a clear acrylic bottle with a clear acrylic cap, the Olaplex No.7 Bonding Oil packaging is very aesthetically pleasing. I think many people will be drawn to the product for its packaging alone. Formulated with the patented Olaplex Bond-Building Technology (Bis-Aminopropyl Diglycol Dimaleate), the No.7 Bonding Oil repairs broken disulfide bonds in the hair to reduce "breakage, frizz, and flyaways". Offering heat protection up to 450°F, the formulation has a light floral scent. A few drops goes a long way so I think a full 60 ml bottle will last me at least a year. Therefore, this is one of those products I would recommend getting the smaller size unless you are sharing it with other people in the household.
With a light oil consistency, the No.7 Bonding Oil spreads very evenly on damp hair. After blow-drying, my hair indeed feels soft and nourished. The oil also significantly reduces frizziness and tangling. Despite the dimethicone-based formulation, I didn't find the product heavy or greasy. I think as long as you take care not to apply it too close to the roots, it will not weigh things down. Overall, this is a rather lovely hair oil. I absolutely adore the packaging and I also enjoy the formulation. Additionally, if you opt for the 30ml bottle available at Sephora, the price is reasonable, especially during a sale.
