Olaplex | No.3 Hair Perfector, No.4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo & No.5 Bond Maintenance Conditioner: Review
Olaplex is a hair care brand I've heard a lot about but never tried. Personally, I'm not big on hair care products and usually make do with whatever is on sale at the drugstore. Therefore, it's always interesting to try out luxury hair care to see if the results justify the price. Established in 2014, Olaplex is known for its star ingredient called bis-aminopropyl diglycol dimaleate, which works by repairing and restoring damaged hair. Today I want to share with you my thoughts on their classic three-step treatment. To read all about it, click......
Olaplex | No.3 Hair Perfector, No.4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo & No.5 Bond Maintenance Conditioner: Review
Olaplex | No. 3 Hair Perfector
Olaplex | No. 3 Hair Perfector (C$41 for 100 ml):
A pre-shampoo treatment formulated with the patented Olaplex Bond Building Technology that mends broken disulfide bonds in hair, the No. 3 Hair Perfector has a thick conditioner consistency and a light floral scent. The product is to be applied onto damp but unshampooed hair and left on for 10 minutes before shampooing and conditioning (or just rinsing off). Essentially, the No.3 Hair Perfector is a nourishing hair mask designed to prevent and minimize frizz, split ends, and breakages. When I paired it with the No. 4 and No. 5, it made my hair feel thicker and stronger but not as smooth or silky as I would have preferred.

Olaplex | No. 4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo & No. 5 Bond Maintenance Conditioner (C$41 for 250 ml each):
A daily shampoo and conditioner duo formulated with the same Olaplex Bond Building Technology as that of the No. 3 Hair Perfector, the No. 4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo and No. 5 Conditioner are designed to prevent breakage, boost shine, and improve manageability. Both have a subtle floral fragrance although I wish they did a little more with the scent. Personally, I expect a more "designer fragrance" from luxury hair care but for those sensitive to scents, Olaplex is probably a good fit.

Olaplex | No. 4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo & No. 5 Conditioner
The No. 4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo has a thicker gel consistency so a little goes a long way but it does take a bit of effort to fully lather. The No. 5 Bond Maintenance Conditioner, on the other hand, has a pretty traditional conditioner consistency. It leaves the hair feeling thick and tangle-free but it doesn't provide that ultra silky and smooth feel that I prefer. Overall, I think all three of these products from Olaplex are good but not amazing, especially given the hefty price tag.
