Olaplex | No.4D Clean Volume Detox Dry Shampoo: Review
Recently, my hair stylist recommended the Olaplex No. 4D Clean Volume Detox Dry Shampoo (C$41 for 178 g or C$22 for 32 g) as I was looking for a good, lightweight dry shampoo. Coincidentally, I also received a sample of it from Olaplex to try out so I thought I would share my thoughts on it with you. Formulated with a "light-as-air dry cleansing technology", the No. 4D Clean Volume Detox Dry Shampoo promises to make the hair feel refreshed without any build-up. To read all about it, click......

Matrix Style Link Mineral | Overview + Giveaway
Although I've been beauty-blogging for a few years now, I'll have to admit that when it comes to hair styling products, I'm a bit of an amateur. I'll curl my hair once in a blue moon and use a little hair spray or dry shampoo here and there, but aside from that, I really don't use a lot of styling products. Nevertheless, I got quite excited when Matrix sent over a few of their Style Link styling products. Promising a light, tousled look, the line provides several easy-to-use products that you can add to your summer hair routine. To read a bit about a few key products and see how you can enter to win them all (valued at ~$70 CAD), click......

Cake Rush Brush Satin Sugar Dry Shampoo Powder Volumizing Brush in "Darkest": Review
I love dry shampoo! It is truly one of the best new hair products to have arrived on the market a couple years ago. I mean, who doesn't love the idea of a quick fixer-upper for greasy roots without having to hit the showers? So far, I've tried loose dry shampoo powder and spray on dry shampoo, so I was pretty intrigued when I learnt about the Satin Sugar Rush Brush Dry Shampoo Volumizing Brush ($22 CAD) from Cake Beauty. The travel-friendly dry shampoo is packaged in a handy brush applicator that aims to provide an easy application and volume for the roots. So how well did this dry shampoo brush work? TRESemmé Fresh Start Volumizing Dry Shampoo: Review

Disclaimer: Product featured was provided for review.
Happy Friday everyone! Today I have a quick review of a dry shampoo from TRESemmé to share with y'all. The TRESemmé Fresh Start Volumizing Dry Shampoo ($3.99 for 56g Travel Size) contains mineral clay that will absorb oil and leave behind a fresh citrus-y scent when you don't have time to wash your hair. I wash my hair every other day to prevent drying out my ends, but in between washes I still like to keep my roots non-greasy and fresh looking so dry shampoos are perfect for that!

Packaging & Application:
The TRESemmé Dry Shampoo dispenses from a classic aerosol spray can and it comes out in a rather moist spray. For a few seconds the dry shampoo made my roots feel almost damp (quite different from Batiste dry shampoo spray, which is noticeably drier when sprayed). The dry shampoo is white but once massaged into the roots it becomes almost colorless, leaving behind no obvious white residue. I didn't really quite catch the citrus scent TRESemmé described, the product smells like traditional hairspray to me.

Result:
My roots went from greasy and limpy to fresh and slightly more volumized. The volumizing action is pretty subtle but it's there. The dry shampoo will keep my hair fresh looking for a whole day before I wash my hair again with water and normal shampoo.

Overall I think this is a great little life saver to bring around with you, just in case a greasy roots emergency strikes. The price, like all TRESemmé products, is super on point so it actually does't hurt to get several of these travel sized cans and have one in all of your bags!

Have you hopped on the dry shampoo wagon yet? What's your favorite one? Let me know in the comments below!

Batiste Dry Shampoo for Medium and Brunette Hair: Review

So dry shampoo is all the rage these days eh? I wash my hair every other day or sometimes I go two days without washing because my hair (unlike my face, fortunately) doesn't get very oily, and because I recently ombred my hair, the ends are pretty damaged and I do not want them to get even dryer from excessive shampooing.
So a few weeks ago, I spotted a bunch of Batiste Dry Shampoo at Winners. I decided to pick up the one for medium and brunette hair (though I have black hair). Interestingly, the medium and brunette ones are bundled up in twos (probably by mistake), so basically I got two full sized cans for $9.99 CAD.
