Bite Beauty Best Bite High Pigment Pencil Set: Review and Swatches

Disclaimer: This product was purchased by me.
Hey everyone, hope you are all doing well. Today I have a review of the Bite Beauty Best Bite High Pigment Pencil Set I bought during Sephora's VIB 20% off sale. The set sells for $28 CAD or $25 USD. It comes with four high pigment moisturizing matte finish lipsticks in a twist up retractable crayon form.
The four lip pencils are housed in a very chic matte textured metal tin slightly bigger than a credit card, there is also a mirror on the backside of the lid.

Rhubarb:
A lovely "plum rose", Rhubarb is a wearable neutral that feels very comfortable on the lips. I personally don't love this color because it feels too sophisticated and more appropriate for women my mom's age.
Cranberry:
This one is a classic deep red leaning slightly blue, it's a nice moisturizing color, perfect for the holidays!
Quince:
Described as a "rose berry", Quince is a gorgeous dark pink leaning red. This is hands down my favorite color, it also appears to be a tad more pigmented compared to the rest.
Madeira:
Described as a "nude pink", Madeira is probably my least favorite out of the set. This one had the problem of setting into the fine lines of my lips in a way that my natural lip color appeared underneath it, making things look uneven. I imagine this color would look good on skin with cool undertones, but for me it's just not very flattering.
Overall:
Despite the claim, none of these high pigment pencils are actually matte, but instead have a natural sheen to their finish; I don't really mind it because all four colors are very comfortable and moisturizing.
However, the downside to the moisturizing formula is that the product doesn't cling to the lips and transfers quite easily. The darker colors leave a nice tint behind but the lighter ones simply wore off in around four hours.
The retractable pencil packaging is a nice idea but to obtain a neat application, especially with the darker colors, a lip brush is definitely needed so I would have preferred these to be in normal lipstick bullet form that's easier to dab on with a lip brush.
Overall, I do recommend this set, the value is great and I think this is just such a cute and affordable gift for a friend who loves makeup!
