For Fall 2014, there is a new addition to Katy Perry's Killer Queen's perfume library and this one is called Royal Revolution ($59 for 50ml). Inspired by the "bold beauty and effortless conviction" of Katy and other strong female leaders alike, Royal Revolution is described as a "rebellious floral". Shaped like a piece of multi-faceted sapphire, the Royal Revolution bottle has a beautiful gradient design. The cap has a gunmetal finish and bears Katy Perry's "royal crest". The bottle feels very regal and reminds me of the sovereign's orb you see queens and kings holding in their hands for important occasions. The only downside with the bottle design is that the perfume can't stand upright so it has to be stored on its side. I kind of wish the bottle came with its own fancy stand!
Royal Revolution is described as an "irresistibly rebellious floral fragrance".
Top Notes: Pink Freesia, Pomegranate
Middle Notes: Sandalwood, Orange Flower, Jasmine Petals
Base Notes: Black Thorn, Skin Musk, Vanilla Orchid
Upon first whiff, I immediately picked up the pomegranate, which is sharp, sweet, and refreshing all at the same time. Right after the pomegranate hit the jasmine, vanilla, sandalwood emerge and combine to form a very sweet and warm concoction that's delicious and comforting. The scent lasts for at least five to six hours.
A gorgeous scent with a gorgeous bottle to match, Royal Revolution has a wonderful balance of pomegranate tang and warm vanilla and floral combo. Although most likely targeted at Katy Perry's teenage fans, the scent is appropriate for any women looking for a warm and fruity floral.
Killer Queen's Royal Evolution will be available starting August 2014 exclusively at Shoppers Drug Mart.
