NYC New York Color Times Square Inspired EOTD: #NYCBeautyPro August Challenge

Disclaimer: Products featured were provided for review.
Starting this month, I am officially a member of the New York Color Canada Beauty Blogger Program (woot woot), which means each month I will be bringing you guys a look created using a selection of NYC products, starting with this month's theme-Time Square. We were challenged to create a look that would make our eyes stand out in the crowd (at Times Square). To check out what I came up with, click......
For the look, we had a selection of NYC Individual Eyes palettes ($4.99) to choose from and I used the 946 Best of Broadway palette for the look. These Individual Eyes palettes are designed for specific eye colors and for the Best of Broadway selection features four warm-tone browns (designed to compliment brown eyes) in addition to a primer base and illuminator.
The shadows were very pigmented but a tad dry so definitely use the included primer, which actually works very well and provides a sheer coverage to the lids.

After doing a simple smoky eye with the palette, I used the NYC Show Time Velvet Eyeliners ($1.99) in "Black Velvet" to line my upper lid and tight line. The liner has a very smooth gel-like texture when swatched but tugged my lids a little when I tried to apply it over the shadow. The formulation isn't very smudge-proof on the tight line so I ended up with some black on my waterline as well.

After applying the eyeliner, I finished the look with the NYC Big Bold Volume by the Lash Mascara ($4.99). This is a volumizing mascara with a simple large silicone applicator. The formulation weight down my lashes quite a bit so I wasn't a huge fan.

Here is the finished look, I think it ended up a lot more natural than I intended but I'm very happy nonetheless. For my lips I am wearing Clarins Rouge Eclat Lipstick in "Strawberry Pink" and Clarins blush in "Tawny Pink".
Here is a close up of the eyes, the colors of the shadows are very lovely and the liner is very intensely black.
This was my first time using NYC products in a very long time and I was very happy with the quality of the shadows but the formulation of the liner and mascara can definitely be approved on. Have you tried any of these products from NYC, what are your thoughts? Let me know in the comments below!
