Hey hey hey, happy Hump Day everyone! I am back with a little more Marc Jacobs and today I wanted to review for y'all the Marvelous Mousse Transformative Foundation ($66 CAD) in the shade "22 Bisque". How well does this fancy mousse foundation work? Find out by clicking........
What it is:
-Full coverage, lightweight , mousse-to-powder foundation
-"Melt-on" technology (includes sweet orange extract) ensures smooth application
-Formulated with coconut water and amino acids that keep skin hydrated
The Marvelous Mousse Transformative Foundation comes in a very unique and elegant flat glass jar with a rounded square shape. The black lid bears the Marc Jacobs logo in shiny silver and there is an extra white plastic lid underneath the outer lid that keeps the product sealed when not in use.
The foundation has a creamy but not heavy texture. Because it's in a jar form, it can be applied with either your fingers, a sponge, or a foundation brush. I applied mine with the EcoTools Skin Perfecting Brush, which worked very well to give a full coverage finish. I found the foundation a bit hard to blend out using just the brush (I was getting quite a bit of streaking), so maybe a combination of fingers or sponge should be used during application.
The finish of the foundation is very matte and I didn't find the formulation to be particularly hydrating. The shade "22 Bisque Light" is intended for light complexions with pink to beige undertones. I am a NC20 and the shade matched fairly well. The pigmentation pretty strong so this is indeed a full-coverage foundation.
Here is a before and after, the foundation is definitely full coverage!
|Left: Bare skin|
Right: Marvelous Mousse Foundation with no primer.
This is a lovely matte, full coverage foundation but I can't say that I am wowed with the finish. The formulation isn't drying but it wasn't cushion-y enough to blur out my pores and uneven skin texture; the coverage on the other hand is excellent.
Marc Jacobs is available online and in stores at Sephora.
