Marc Jacobs New Nudes Sheer Lip Gel in "108 Moody Margot", "150 Eat Cake" & "108 Have We Met?": Review and Swatches
Along with the new Le Marc Lip Creme released earlier this year, Marc Jacobs also created a line of neutral lipsticks with a nourishing formulation called the New Nudes Sheer Lip Creme ($38 CAD). Made with vitamin E and myrrh extract, these sheer lipsticks come in seven different shades of nude. Today I have three colors from the collection, to see some swatches, click......

Packaging:
Housed in an elegant pink beige flattened cylindrical tube, the lipsticks have a shiny raised Marc Jacobs logo on the cap and a decorative silver button. The cap snaps shut with a magnetic closure. The lipstick tip is adorably rounded, which doesn't interfere much with the application as the colors are fairly sheer and don't require precision.

Formulation:
The various shades differ quite a bit in terms of formulation. "Moody Margot" is beige nude and it is pale and sheer, more suitable for those with lightly pigmented lips. "Eat Cake" looks like a dusty rose in the tube and it applies more peachy on the lips. The pigmentation of this one is actually quite decent. Finally, "Have We Met?" is a shimmery, almost frosty pale baby pink. Both "Moody Margot" and "Eat Cake" have a smooth and creamy formulation, very much like a balm while "Have We Met?" has a drier, slightly gritty texture that clings tightly to the lips. The two non-shimmers feel very comfy on the lips but the colors really don't last. I did a generous application of "Eat Cake" and the color and the moisture was gone within three hours, which was quite disappointing.

Overall:
Wonderfully packaged, the New Nudes Sheer Lip Gels' formulation varies depending on the shade. "Have We Met" is quite packed full of shimmers and not as moisturizing. Both "Moody Margot" and "Eat Cake" are lightweight and moisturizing but the color doesn't long. So overall, I don't love this collection but I strongly suggest checking out the Le Marc Lip Creme line as the formulation is much more long wearing while not compromising comfort. Additionally, the Le Marc line has an amazing range of colors, including various nudes.
