Mark. All Butter Now Lip Treat New Summer 2015 Shades: Review and Swatches

Summer lips are all about that sheer pop of color with an irresistible sheen. So for Summer 2015, Mark. added four brand new colors to its All Butter Now Lip Treat ($14 CAD) range. Packaging:
Avon's sister brand Mark. is heavily marketed towards a younger clientele and the products naturally have a more girlish feel. The All Butter Now Lip Treats come in a shiny baby pink tube and the Mark. logos have a reflective rainbow shine. The packaging is a bit too childish for my taste and the tubes are very lightweight as well. As I've mentioned before, I always prefer my lipsticks to have a nice weight to them, a heavier lipstick just feels more luxurious in the hand.

Shades & Formulation:
The four new summer shades are all sheer creams with the exception of Mauvelous, which has some subtle silver shimmers. I'm glad that there are two neutral shades and two brighter shades that cater to different tastes.

Terra Hotta: A soft pink beige neutral, this shade is quite sheer. It's a nude, but it doesn't wash out the lips.
Mauvelous: This is a dark mauve with very subtle silver sparkles. I love mauves but this shade doesn't flatter my skin tone. There seems to be a bit too much grey in the color, which makes my complexion look dull.
Razmatazz: This is a bright berry pink. It's fairly pigmented, but the finish is translucent and shiny.
Fired Up: A super fun and bright sheer cherry red, this shade makes the lips look so plump and juicy.

All four shades are moisturizing and lightweight on the lips. These are similar to the Revlon Lip Butters and the Almay Butter Kiss Lipsticks, but I think the Mark. colors have a more slick and moisturizing formulation, with an even more intense punch of color. Unfortunately, the wear is short- three to four hours with no eating or drinking.

Overall:

Rich yet lightweight, pigmented yet translucent, these All Butter Now Lip Treats from Mark. are an absolute delight. If you love low-maintenance lip colors that are hydrating and shiny, definitely check these out!
