Clarisonic Smart Profile Review
Christmas is still quite a ways away but if you are an eager list maker, it's time to look into some luxury beauty gifts. Introduced late 2015, the Clarisonic Smart Profile Face and Body ($339 CAD) device is what I consider the "pro" version of the previous Clarisonic cleansing devices. With a brush head that doesn't spin, vibrate, but oscillates, the Clarisonic devices have been a skincare routine staple of mine for the past two years. To find out what sets the Smart Profile apart from Mia 2 and Aria, click.......

The Smart Profile Device:
The biggest Clarisonic device to date, the Smart Profile currently comes only in white and pink. The handle has two buttons, a power button that also adjusts the speed and a turbo button that turns on the turbo mode. Like the previous Clarisonic devices, the Smart Profile is a cleansing device with an oscillating brush head that cleans the skin 11 times better than using your hands ago.
Prior to first use, the device needed to be charged for 24 hours. The Smart Body, unlike previous Clarisonic devices, has four oscillation speeds (versus Mia 2's two and Aria's three) and two modes: the smart mode and the manual mode. However, the modes can only be activated when the device is paired with the included "smart brush heads". So if you replacing the brush heads, you need to get the "smart brush heads" in order to utilize the "smart mode".

The "smart mode" of the Smart Profile includes a preset program, the duration of which you can adjust from one minute to two. For a one minute program, the device provides a 20-second deep cleansing on the forehead, a 20-second deep cleansing on the nose and chin, and a 10-second gentle cleansing on each cheek. The device will beep and vibrate to signal you to transition onto the next area.
Also included in the programming is the manual mode, which basically allows you to adjust the oscillation speed however you wish. Since getting the device, I've been pretty much using it on manual because I like using the device on "speed 3" for all parts of my face.

If you want a even more intense cleansing, whether for the face or the body, you can press and hold the turbo button for as long as you'd like to activate a really intense oscillation. I am not very finicky when it comes to my facial cleansing device so I have been very satisfied with just sticking to one oscillation speed. So although the smart mode is not super useful to me, the Smart Profile has two huge advantages compared to the previous Clarisonic devices I've tried.

The first standout quality of the Clarisonic Smart Profile is the higher oscillation speed. I don't have the exact specifications but speed four and turbo speed is definitely faster than what any of the previous devices can oscillate. For someone with a lot of enlarged pores, sebum production, and congestion, the higher intensity is very much appreciated when my skin is looking particularly rough. The second plus of the Smart Profile is the significantly longer battery life. Again, I couldn't find the exact numbers inside the instructions or on the packaging, but the Smart Profile lasts a heck lot longer than the Aria or the Mia 2. With those devices, I've had to charge them on a one and two-week basis. With the Smart Profile, however, I only have to charge it every five or so weeks (with a once daily use).

Dynamic Facial Brush Head & Turbo Massage Body Brush Head:
Included in this set is a Smart Profile face brush and a Smart Profile body brush. The face brush is pretty similar to the sensitive brush head, which is suitable for all skin types. The body brush, on the other head, is surprisingly soft as well. I actually have yet to try the Smart Profile on the body simply because I don't ever have the time in the shower but I'd imagine the body brush working well at gently exfoliating all body parts.

Overall, this is definitely the best Clarisonic device to date. The bigger size does impede its transportability but it is still very ergonomic and easy to hold. The smart mode of the device is great for beginners but I really like the customizability of the manual mode. The biggest plus of this device is the faster oscillation speeds (which translates to a deeper, more intense cleansing) and a far better battery life. Despite being the most expensive Clarisonic, the Smart Profile is my favorite Clarisonic device that I would recommend it for anybody who is looking to invest in a facial cleansing device.
