BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Slimlight Review and Swatches
A few months ago, BECCA expanded its ever-growing highlighter collection with the new Shimmering Skin Perfector Slimlights ($34 CAD each). Designed to be an easy, hassle-free precision highlighter that applies in just a swipe, the Shimmering Skin Perfector Slimlights are available in three shades. Packaging:
The BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Slimlights are packaged in a sleek and shiny twist-up pen. The actual product is in a slim crayon form so it's definitely more suitable for a targeted highlight as opposed to a diffuse sheen. I like how the pen has a nice weight to it, making the Slimlights feel ever so luxurious.

Formulation:
With a very slick and creamy formulation, the Shimmering Skin Perfector Slimlights glide very smoothly and are easily blendable. The three shades differ quite a bit in intensity but they are all on the sheerer side once blended out. If you want an intense, "Instagram-worthy" glow, these are not for you. However, if you like a very subtle highlight that you can precisely apply (i.e. down the center of the nose, cupid's bow, or brow bone), then these are very convenient. My biggest concern, however, is with the longevity. Because I have fairly oily skin, these shimmers wear off pretty quickly. The formulation doesn't really set so it's prone to smudging and transferring. Read on below to see a breakdown of the three shades.

Topaz: This is a pretty coppery gold. In terms of formulation, this is the most intense one out of the three. The texture is also slightly heavier compared to the other two. It's in no way gritty or glittery but it does contain some bigger shimmer particles.
Pearl: A pale white shimmer, Pearl contains very fine micro-shimmers that blend into a very illuminating sheen.
Champagne Pop: Perhaps the sheerest out of the three, this is a soft champagne shimmer that also blends out to be a barely-there opalescent sheen.

Overall these are not my personal picks for highlighters due to the shorter wear on my oily skin, but they definitely have their perks. I appreciate the compact crayon applicator that's suitable for a more precise highlight. If you are someone who likes a natural look with just a dab of highlight on a few strategic areas of the face, then the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Slimlights may be perfect for you!
