Kiehl's | Avocado Nourishing Hydrating Mask: Review
When it comes to face masks, Kiehl's offers something for almost every skin type. For this fall, the brand is further expanding its repertoire with the Avocado Nourishing Hydrating Mask ($22 CAD for 25 g or $56 CAD for 100 g). Taking inspirations from Kiehl's best-selling Avocado Eye Cream (reviewed here), this new mask is formulated with avocado oil and avocado fruit extract to nourish the skin and seal in moisture. I gave the mask a test drive and wanted to share with you my review today. To read on, click.....

Kiehl's | Avocado Nourishing Hydrating Mask
With a lumpy green appearance that almost looks like guacamole, the Avocado Nourishing Hydrating Mask contains squalane, evening primrose oil, shea butter, cupuaçu butter, and even some bentonite clay. Interestingly, the avocado oil and avocado fruit extract are pretty low on the ingredient list and the green color actually comes from the added chromium oxide green pigment. Due to the rather thick and buttery texture, the mask is a tad tricky to apply. Small chunks would fall off my face before I have the chance to smooth them out. With that said, a little goes a long way and everything does eventually even out with careful massaging. The formulation feels instantly soothing and nourishing and within 15 minutes, it sets to a soft finish. The removal process is fairly easy (warm water alone did the trick) and despite the oils and butter in the formulation, there is no greasy residue. With that said, the mask does leave behind a subtle but palpable moisture barrier that provides the skin with a softened and conditioned feel.

Kiehl's | Avocado Nourishing Hydrating Mask
Overall, this is a very lovely nourishing mask great for those struggling with dry skin. Because some of the ingredients (ex. avocado oil, cupuaçu butter) are comedogenic (tending to clog pores), the mask may cause breakouts so I would not recommend it to those with oily/combination skin.
