Youth To The People | Mandelic Acid + Superfood Unity Exfoliant: Review
Youth To The People has been on a serious winning streak this year! Slowly but surely, the brand has been dropping one hit after another. The latest is the new Madelic Acid + Superfood Unity Exfoliant (C$49 for 118 ml), an exfoliating toner formulated with a combination of AHA, BHA, and PHA. I've got all the details to share with you today. To read on, click.....
Youth To The People | Mandelic Acid + Superfood Unity Exfoliant: Review
Youth To The People | Mandelic Acid + Superfood Unity Exfoliant
Housed in a glass bottle with a flip-top opening, the YTTP Mandelic Acid + Superfood Unity Exfoliant contains 3% mandelic acid (AHA) for surface exfoliation, 2% salicylic acid (BHA) for deeper pore cleansing, and 1% Gluconolactone (PHA) for boosting cell turnover and hydration. The alcohol-free formulation has a runny liquid consistency. With rosemary water, rose water, aloe juice, kale extract, spinach extract, and green tea extract, the toner also provides strong antioxidant properties. The formulation spreads easily on the skin and leaves behind no discernable residue. As you may know, I already use a lot of AHAs and BHA in my skincare routine so I have some built-up tolerance against those ingredients. Nevertheless, this toner feels very gentle and likely will work even for those with sensitive skin. There is a hint of botanical scent but otherwise, the formulation feels soothing and mild with no stinging sensation. Overall, this is another great product from YTTP. If you are looking for a gentle, alcohol-free exfoliating toner, definitely give this a try!

*Update*: Less than 9 months from when I first opened the bottle, the toner developed a chunky, cloudy formation which the brand assures me is not microorganism growth. They also insist that the formation is normal and not a sign of an unstable formulation but I did not feel comfortable finishing the product. By checking other online reviews, it seems that this is actually a common problem with the toner so I hope YTTP reformulates the product to address this problem.
