Naturally, the Naturium BHA Liquid Exfoliant 2% (C$29.99 for 120 ml) made its way onto my list of BHA toners to try. Sitting comfortably in the midrange price tier, this toner is formulated with encapsulated salicylic acid and bioactive fruit acids that gently exfoliate the skin to "reduce the appearance of pores, smooth and even skin tone, and reveal more radiant, brighter looking skin." Naturium | BHA Liquid Exfoliant 2%: Review
Disclaimer: The product featured was provided for review. As someone with oily combination skin who chronically struggles with congested, enlarged pores, salicylic acid (a type of beta hydroxy acid, also known as BHA) is one of the key ingredients I consistently look for in skincare. Lately, I’ve been on a bit of a BHA toner binge, testing out everything from the St. Ives BHA Exfoliating Toner to the SOME BY MI AHA BHA PHA 30 Days Miracle Toner, Benton Aloe BHA Skin Toner, Isntree Chestnut BHA 2% Clear Liquid, and the PanOxyl Clarifying Exfoliant with 2% Salicylic Acid.

Celimax | Ji Woo Gae Heartleaf BHA Peeling Pad: Review
Disclaimer: This post contains affiliate links and affiliate codes. The products featured were provided by me.During a visit to Costco in Seoul, I came across a twin jumbo pack of the Celimax Ji Woo Gae Heartleaf BHA Peeling Pad (~C$30 for 2 x 80 Pads). I had never heard of the brand before, but with such an incredible price and my undying love for BHA products, I decided to take a chance. Now that I am nearly through the first jar, I am happy to report that it was absolutely worth it. To read my full review of the Celimax Ji Woo Gae Heartleaf BHA Peeling Pad, click...

COSRX | BHA Blackhead Power Liquid: Review
Disclaimer: The product featured was purchased by me.
If you are a regular reader, you'll know that I discovered COSRX last year and have been testing out a couple of their AHA/BHA products design for oily/combination skin. After doing more research into the brand, I found The Skincare Edit's praise of the BHA Blackhead Power Liquid (C$26 for 100 ml). Described as a clarifying essence that "effectively penetrates the skin and cleans up clogged pores", the BHA Blackhead Power Liquid has quickly become a holy grail product for me. COSRX | One Step Original Clear Pad: Review
Disclaimer: The product featured was purchased by me.
Recently I've been experiencing quite a bit of pore congestion and hormonal acne so I wanted to re-introduce BHA (beta hydroxy/salicylic acid) back into my skincare routine. However, as mentioned in past skincare reviews (ex. my post on the Paula's Choice 2% BHA Skin Exfoliant), I am very sensitive to salicylic acid, which usually results in irritation and dryness for me even after just a couple of uses. Earlier this year I finished a bottle of the COSRX AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment Toner (reviewed here) and found the betaine salicylate used in place of salicylic acid to be much gentler but just as effective. Therefore, I decided to give the brand's best-selling One Step Original Clear Pad (~C$22 for 70 Sheets) a try. Designed for oily, acne-prone skin, this toner pad promises to remove excess oil and dead skin build-up to achieve clearer, more refined skin. So how well does it work? Read my review to find out......

Omorovicza | Acid Fix AHA BHA Treatment: Review
Disclaimer: This post contains affiliate links and the products featured were provided for review.
Ever since I was introduced to alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) in the form of the amazing Pixi Glow Tonic, I've been incorporating the ingredient into my daily skincare routine. I've tried AHA cleansers, masks, toners, and creams but my favorite category has to be serums. I've tried the likes of the Sunday Riley Good Genes Lactic Acid Treatment, the Drunk Elephant Glycolic Night Serum, and the Pixi Overnight Glow Serum, and while they have all been pretty awesome, I am always interested in trying something new. So when Omorovica sent over their Acid Fix AHA BHA Treatment ($165 CAD for 30 ml), I was beyond excited! Now that I'm almost halfway through the bottle, I am ready to share with you my thoughts on the formulation. To read my review, click......

COSRX | AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment Toner: Review
Disclaimer: The product featured was purchased by me.
After having been an author of a beauty blog for more than six years now, I really don't find much time (or interest) to read a lot of other beauty blogs but one of the few sites I frequent is The Skincare Edit. Michelle, the founder of the site, writes great in-depth skincare reviews and beauty trend analysis and one of her holy grail products is the COSRX Blackhead Power Liquid. So when I spotted it at one of the "fancier" Walmarts in town, I thought I'd give it a go. It turns out though, what I thought I bought was the Blackhead Power Liquid was actually the COSRX AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment Toner ($17 CAD for 150 ml). Nevertheless, I thought I'd share a review with you today as it still turned out to be a great toner. To read my thoughts, click......

Rodan + Fields | Unblemish Regimen: Review
Disclaimer: The products featured were provided for review.
Probably best known as the creators of Proactiv, dermatologist Dr. Rodan and Dr. Fields launched Rodan + Fields in 2002 in the hopes of offering a premium skincare brand with clinical results. The brand recently launched in Canada and I took the opportunity to test out their Unblemish Regimen since I still struggle with mild acne on a daily basis. There has been ongoing criticism of the brand's multi-level marketing strategy but as all the products are currently available directly through Rodan + Fields' website, I feel no moral quandary in talking about the products as I'm all about efficacy and quality at the end of the day. So if you are curious to read my review of the Unblemish Regimen ($207 CAD per set or each sold separately), click.......

Philosophy Clear Days Ahead Acne Treatment Collection: Review
Disclaimer: This post contains affiliate links and the products featured were provided for review.
I suffered from very severe acne in my teenage years so I knew that adult acne would be something I'd have to deal with for the years to come. Therefore, I use acne treatments on a regular basis to help prevent breakouts and reduce existing spots. I've been pretty faithful to my Proactiv moisturizer treatment for several years now but I'm always up for testing out new products. Not too long ago, Philosophy launched a brand new salicylic acid-based acne treatment line called the Clear Days Ahead Acne Treatment. I've been using the collection for several months now so today I wanted to give you a low down on all four products. To read my reviews, click......

Paula's Choice Skin Balancing Essential Kit: Review
Disclaimer: This is a sponsored post, the products featured were provided for review.
For the longest time, I used Paula's Choice as my go-to makeup and skin care encyclopedia (they provide great info and analysis on common beauty product ingredients). It wasn't until earlier this year that one of my friends raved about their products and how they are the only brand in his skincare routine. So when Pretty in My Pocket (PRIMP) offered me to try out some Paula's Choice products, I was pretty darn excited.
Before testing out any of the products though, I got on a quick phone consultation with a Paula's Choice skin experts (free for anyone who's interested) to determine which product range would work best for my oily, combination, and acne-prone skin. The knowledgeable consultant recommended to me the Skin Balancing Essential Kit ($85 CAD) and a few other new releases from the brand. I've been testing out the kit for the past several weeks and today I want to share with you my thoughts on the result. To read more, click.......

If you've been following the blog for a while, you'll know that I've been a long-time acne sufferer. In high school I had very serious acne all over my face and although things have gotten significantly better over the years, I still get the occasional patches of breakouts along my jawline.
Nowadays, I use the Proactiv Repairing Treatment on a regular basis in combination with my non-acne care skin care routine, but every once in a while I'll test out a new acne treatment product. So today I want to share with you my experience with the Murad Blemish Control Travel Set ($40 CAD), which includes a Clarifying Cleanser, a Blemish Clearing Solution, and a Oil-Control Mattifier. How well does this blemish control system work? Read on to find out.......
