Guerlain | Abeille Royale Scalp & Hair Youth Oil in Serum: Review
Well known for its Abeille Royale collection made with honey and royal jelly, Guerlain just added a new product to the family and it's a hair product! Described as a "non-greasy hair oil composed of 97% naturally derived ingredients", the new Abeille Royale Scalp & Hair Youth Oil in Serum (C$194 for 50 ml) promises visibly thicker and shinier hair. So, just how amazing is this luxury hair oil? Read my review to find out......
Guerlain | Abeille Royale Scalp & Hair Youth Oil in Serum: Review
Guerlain | Abeille Royale Scalp & Hair Youth Oil in Serum
Housed in a beautiful glass bottle with a dropper dispenser, the Abeille Royale Scalp & Hair Youth Oil in Serum contains moisturizing vitamin B, honey from French Ouessant Island rich in polyphenols (potent antioxidants), and royal jelly full of carbohydrates, proteins, lipids, and vitamins. With a water-based formulation, the Abeille Royale Scalp & Hair Youth Oil in Serum has a runny consistency with a lovely, subtle fragrance. Guerlain recommends applying the product onto the scalp before distributing it evenly onto the hair. I would normally never do this with a hair product as I tend to get greasy roots but because this is more of a hair "water" (with some oil in it), it doesn't leave any residue or weigh down the hair.

Guerlain | Abeille Royale Scalp & Hair Youth Oil in Serum
To be super honest, the formulation actually feels very diluted so even when I apply several pipettes full of the product, I don't feel a significant difference. While the Abeille Royale Scalp & Hair Youth Oil in Serum smooths the follicles and makes the hair feel softer without adding any heaviness or greasiness, it is not as nourishing as other hair oils or hair treatments I've tried in the past. So although I thoroughly enjoy the luxurious packaging and lightweight formulation, I'm not sure this is a hair product I would repurchase, especially given the steep price point. If you want the same luxurious Guerlain experience but at a slightly better price point, the original Abeille Royale Advanced Watery Youth Oil (reviewed here) is actually a much better investment.
