Lancôme | Clarifique Pore Refining Cleansing Foam (C$60 for 125ml):Designed for oily, combination skin with excess sebum and enlarged pores, the Clarifique Pore Refining Cleansing Foam is formulated with 0.2% salicylic acid and botanical extracts from rose, licorice root, ginkgo leaf, peppermint, and beech bud to gently exfoliate and refine the skin texture. With a unique and sophisticated herbal scent reminiscent of Chanel No. 19, the cleanser has a surprisingly light, runny liquid consistency. A little goes a long way as the formulation creates a very generous amount of lather, leaving the skin feeling super clean but not stripped. Overall, this is a really nice cleanser, but the price is rather steep. Had it been around C$40 or even C$45, I would have been more likely to recommend it. However, if the price does not concern you too much, then I would definitely recommend giving it a try if you love a gentle but deeply cleansing face wash.

Lancôme | Clarifique Texture Refining Brightening Serum (C$110 for 30 ml):Housed in a very fancy glass bottle, the Clarifique Texture Refining Brightening Serum is a gentle exfoliating and brightening serum designed to target dark spots, enlarged pores, and uneven skin textures. Before delving into the formulation, I want to talk a bit about the packaging because the promotional material makes the product look quite different. The glass bottle has an iridescent coating that gives the bottle a rainbow color shift. In all the promotional images, the bottles appear white, blue, and pink. In person, however, although the color shift remains visible, it is much more subdued by the yellowish tint of the serum, making the overall packaging less visually striking.

The Clarifique Texture Refining Brightening Serum packaging also features a snazzy auto fill dropper dispenser. As you twist open the bottle, the dropper mechanism automatically activates and draws the serum into the pipet. However, only a small amount fills the pipet, so I have to manually do another pump, which is not ideal.

The
Clarifique Texture Refining Brightening Serum serum is formulated with 10% PHA (gluconolactone), along with BHA (salicylic acid), glycolic acid, and phytic acid, making it a gentle yet effective chemical exfoliant. It also features niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, sunflower oil, grape seed oil, rosemary extract, and beech bud to hydrate and nourish. The texture is lightweight and watery, with a slightly slick but non-greasy finish. It carries the same distinctive fragrance as the cleanser and spreads easily across the skin. The finish is dewy, and I experienced no significant stinging or irritation. Overall, it’s a gentle but potent brightening serum. If you find glycolic acid serums too harsh, this PHA-focused formulation may be a more skin-friendly alternative.
