Biotherm Aquasource Deep Serum & Gel: Review
Earlier this summer at the unveiling of the new Life Plankton Essence from Biotherm, I was introduced to two best-sellers from the brand's beloved Aquasource range: the Aquasource Deep Serum ($60 CAD) and the Aquasource Deep Hydration Replenishing Gel ($47 CAD). I've been using them on a regular basis since June so today I wanted to share with you my thoughts on both products. So to read more, click.......
Biotherm Aquasource Deep Serum & Gel: Review
Aquasource Deep Serum ($60 CAD):
Key Ingredients:
  • Life Plankton Extract: contains over 30 nutrients: proteins, vitamins, amino acids, glucids, lipids and trace elements that nourishes and rejuvenate the skin
  • Mannose: A simple sugar derived from tree pulp that hydrates the skin.
Packaging:
The serum comes in a beautiful water drop shaped bottle with a blue gradient design. The product dispenses conveniently from a pump that also keeps the serum from contamination.

Formulation & Result:
The serum has a viscous texture filled with millions of micro-pearls that make the product look super iridescent and shimmery. Not to worry though, the micro-pearls blends seamlessly into the skin, leaving behind a luminous effect. Unlike some moisturizing products, this serum deeply penetrates the skin so it really feels like it's plumping up every single skin cell. It leaves the skin with a dewy finish and because I have fairly oily/combination skin, I only use it at night time.Biotherm Aquasource Deep Serum & Gel: Review
Aquasource Gel ($47 CAD):
Key Ingredients:
  • Life Plankton Extract: contains over 30 nutrients: proteins, vitamins, amino acids, glucids, lipids and trace elements that nourishes and rejuvenate the skin
  • Mannose: A simple sugar derived from tree pulp that hydrates the skin.
The gel has the same key ingredients as the serum. However, the serum is three times more concentrated than the gel.

Packaging:
The gel is housed in a round clear glass jar with a white cap. It's a bit inconvenient to scoop out the product (especially if you have long nails like me) so I usually use a fresh Q-Tip to retrieve the gel.
Biotherm Aquasource Deep Serum & Gel: Review
Formulation & Result:
The gel has an incredibly lightweight formulation. It is very light but still hydrating and penetrating. It also has a noticeable herbal, refreshing scent that I didn't notice with the serum. I usually pair this with the serum, using it as the last step of my skincare.  It feels nice and cooling and I always wake up with plump and moisturized skin. Again, much like the serum, this gel is a bit heavy for my oily skin so I use it only at night.

Overall:
Both are amazing products, they deeply penetrate the skin to provide long-lasting hydration. I strongly recommend both to those with normal to dry skin looking for a moisturizing routine that really does the job.

Availability:
Biotherm is available online and in stores at Sephora, The Bay, Shoppers, London Drugs, and Sears.
