Kiehl's Cilantro & Orange Extract Pollutant Defending Masque and Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Masque: Review

If you've been following my blog for a while then you know how much I love Kiehl's. Recently, the brand released two new face masks and I could not be more excited given how big of a mask fanatic I am. So today I have reviews of both the Cilantro & Orange Extract Pollutant Defending Masque and the Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Masque to share with you. To read on, click......

Packaging:
Both masks are available in two sizes: $20 CAD for 28ml or $45 CAD for 75ml. I love the smaller size option because as a mask junkie, I like being able to test out different options without committing to a full-sized jar.
The Cilantro & Orange Extract Masque comes in a pretty clear green jar and the Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Masque comes in a cheery clear orange jar.

Formulation:
The Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Masque is a kaolin-based clay mask. The thick and creamy mask is packed with turmeric root extract and cranberry seeds. The turmeric promises to brighten and calm the skin while the cranberry seeds gently exfoliate during the application process. This mask has a softly invigorating scent and it actually dries pretty quickly. After ten minutes on the face, it feels quite tight. After removal, my skin feels super clean and it looks completely refreshed.
This formulation reminds me a bit of the Sephora Mud Mask (a favorite of mine from 2015) but the Kiehl's Turmeric & Cranberry Seed mask feels more creamy upon application. The removal was a bit challenging as the cranberry seeds really stuck to the skin. Overall though, this is great for oily to combination skin because it gently exfoliates while absorbing excess sebum and impurities.

On the other side of the mask spectrum we have the shea butter-based Cilantro & Orange Extract Pollutant Defending Masque. This mask has a rich creamy texture with a soft cilantro scent. I was a bit hesitant at first because butters and oils don't jive well with my oily/combination skin but surprisingly, this mask worked really well!
The soft and buttery texture feels super comfy on the skin and after I washed this off with warm water and a face sponge, my face felt so soft and supple. There was no greasy or heavy residue and in fact, this would pair really well with the Turmeric & Cranberry mask because while that one deeply cleanses, this one deeply nourishes.
Kiehl's does it again! Both these masks are simply amazing and at $20 CAD a pop, they are totally worth a try!
