Round Lab | Birch Juice Moisturizing Sun Cream SPF50+ PA++++: Review
As mentioned before, I purchased several different Korean sunscreens this summer and I've already reviewed the SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum and the Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun: Rice + Probiotics Sunscreen. So today, I want to share my thoughts on the Round Lab Birch Moisturizing Sunscreen SPF50+ PA++++ (C$29.99 for 50 ml). The most expensive of the three (although often on sale for around C$24 on Stylevana), this sunscreen is described as hydrating and nourishing, doubling as a light moisturizer. Packaged in a simple squeeze tube, the Round Lab Birch Moisturizing Sunscreen is a chemical sunscreen formulated with niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, and birch tree sap full of vitamins, antioxidants, and amino acids that provide anti-inflammatory properties. With a very lightweight cream consistency similar to that of the Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun: Rice + Probiotics Sunscreen, the Round Lab Birch Moisturizing Sunscreen spreads easily on the skin and quickly absorbs leaving behind no white cast or greasy residue. The finish is slightly dewy but nothing overwhelming. There's no discernable fragrance and the formulation feels refreshing and comfortable on the skin. Paired with a moisturizing serum, the sunscreen pretty much doubles as a moisturizer.
Personally, I think the Round Lab Birch Moisturizing Sunscreen is pretty much on par with the Beauty of Joseon sunscreen. For me at least, they are interchangeable so I would simply recommend Beauty of Joseon over Round Lab given its lower price point. Compared to the SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum, however, the Round Lab formulation is just a touch lighter and the packaging doesn't have a pump. Overall, of the three Korean sunscreens I've reviewed recently, the SKIN1004 would be my pick thanks to its convenient packaging and lower price point (only around C$13). With that said, this Round Lab sunscreen is undoubtedly great and I've seen lots of positive reviews from those with sensitive skin.
