TOCOBO | Calamine Pore Control Cleansing Oil (C$29 for 200ml):
This vegan cleansing oil is made with olive oil and coconut oil, and it’s infused with soothing and clarifying calamine (a blend of zinc oxide and iron oxide). It also contains oat and rice extracts to provide additional calming, anti-inflammatory properties. The Calamine Pore Control Cleansing Oil has a uniquely viscous texture that’s slightly thicker than your typical cleansing oil. The formulation has a soft milky tint and a lovely floral scent. It spreads smoothly, massages well into the skin, and emulsifies quickly with water for a thorough cleanse without leaving a heavy residue. Skin feels soft and hydrated afterward, and the formulation effectively removes sebum, impurities, and waterproof makeup. Lastly, although the formulation provides a thorough deep cleanse, I wouldn’t say it has a noticeably greater effect on the appearance of pores as compared to other cleansing oils.

Formulated with niacinamide, mung bean extract, cotton extract, and hyaluronic acid, the TOCOBO Bio Watery Sun Cream is a chemical sunscreen designed to moisturize and calm the skin. It has a lightweight, fairly runny consistency and no detectable fragrance, although some older reviews mention a strong floral scent, which suggests that the product may have been reformulated since its original release. The texture of the Bio Watery Sun Cream is hydrating without being heavy, overly dewy, and it leaves zero white cast. Overall, I think this is a very pleasant, middle-of-the-road sunscreen that is neither too heavy nor overly lightweight and invisible, providing a comfortable hydration akin to what a good daytime moisturizer provides.

TOCOBO | Cotton Soft Sun Stick SPF 50+ PA++++ (C$21 for 19g):
Formulated with both chemical and physical sun filters, the TOCOBO Cotton Soft Sun Stick is a moisturizing and smoothing solid sunscreen with a powdery matte finish. It’s no secret that I am not a big fan of sunscreen sticks, as they often feel mask-like and silicone-heavy, and my experience with the Cotton Soft Sun Stick is similar. Featuring a pleasant floral scent, the stick includes jojoba oil, evening primrose extract, and cotton extract. It glides smoothly onto the skin and leaves a soft matte finish. I did not experience a white cast, although depending on your skin tone, the titanium dioxide may leave one. The formulation feels a bit heavy, similar to the Beauty of Joseon Matte Sun Stick, which I also did not enjoy. Overall, this is not my cup of tea, but to be fair, I have not found many sunscreen stick formulations that I like, so I would much rather use the Bio Watery Sun Cream instead.
