Nail Polish Canada recently started carrying Pou~Pourri ($12.95 CAD for 59ml or $17.95 CAD for 118ml) and the team generously offered to send over a bottle. I've seen these cheeky and fun toilet sprays in various novelty stores before and have always been a bit curious so I couldn't say no. So is this Go-Before-You-Go Toilet Spray a mere gag gift or will it really leave your toilet smelling better than you've found it? Read on to find out......

Strawberry Manicure: Strawberry Nail Art Design

Strawberry Manicure: Strawberry Nail Art Design
Guess what! Nail Polish Canada is once again holding a Nail Art Challenge (give me a vote, I'm "thehappysloths.com") and this one is themed around all things summer! I decided to go a little fruity and did a freehand strawberry manicure. I initially did a fruit salad with kiwi, orange, and dragon fruit but I didn't think the finished look was cohesive enough, so I opted for all strawberries.
For the base I used "Coral of the Story" from Nicole by OPI, which is fast becoming my favorite go-to summer color and for the leaves I used a combination of China Glaze "Starboard" and Essence "L.O.L". The seeds I did using a combination of Essie's "Urban Jungle" and "Fierce, No Fear".

Anyhow, if you like my design, I'd really appreciate it if you head on over to the Summer 2014 Challenge page and give me a vote, I am entry #17 (thehappysloths.com).
Thanks for dropping by guys, come back soon for more nail posts!

e.l.f. Translucent Mattifying Powder: Review

Disclaimer: The product featured was provided for review.

Hey everyone, happy Sunday! Today I have a short and sweet review of a simple and affordable product from e.l.f cosmetics called the e.l.f. Translucent Mattifying Powder ($4.95 from Nail Polish Canada, free Canadian shipping).
As someone with oily skin, I have learnt the importance of carrying a pressed powder with me to avoid looking like I just ran a marathon. For me, after washing my face and applying makeup, oil will start to seep out of my pores within three or four hours so it's very crucial for me to set my makeup with powder, blotting my skin half way through the day and reapply some powder.
The e.l.f Translucent Mattifying Powder comes in a thin black plastic compact with mirror. The compact also holds a sponge for on-the-go application. Formula-wise, the powder is great, though not as industrial strength as the Mattify Ultra powder, it still keeps me shine free for around four hours and delays the look of oily skin. Aside from the mattifying properties, the powder minimizes the size of pores and makes the skin look a little more even and smooth.
I personally prefer applying powder with a brush as I tend to go overboard with sponges so I personally would have preferred a smaller compact without sponge applicator but for the price, this product is totally worth it!
Anyone tried this powder before? Let me know in the comments below!
Check out this and other e.l.f products here on Nail Polish Canada! Thanks for reading, drop by tomorrow for a nail polish post!

"Frostbite" from China Glaze: Review and Swatches

Disclaimer: Nail polish was provided for review.
Nail Polish Canada sent me a few of its popular China Glaze and Orly shades to review and  "Frostbite"($6.95 + free Canadian shipping) from China Glaze is one of them.
I am generally not a big fan of metallic and frost polishes because they can be quite tricky to work with, but I have to admit that "Frostbite" totally took me by surprise! It is a very bright electric blue frost and it really catches the eyes. To see some swatches and a review of the formula, click......
