Worst of 2017 | My Least Favorite Products

Worst of 2017 | My Least Favorite Products
I don't know about you but I love a good "worst of" list. It's great to find out which amazing products to check out but it's also very useful to find out what to avoid. So today I want to share with you my least favorite products of 2017. An obligatory disclaimer is needed so here it goes. This list consists of products I either found disappointing, impractical, ridiculously overpriced, or just straight up awful. However, everyone's taste and preferences differ so although these products may not have worked for me, they may be someone else's holy grail. To find out what made the list, click......

Complexion:
1. MAC Next To Nothing Face Colour: If you want a no-coverage foundation that literally rolls off of your face, this is the one.
2. Too Cool For School After School BB Foundation: With a wide-mouth packaging that made a mess each time I tried to open it, this BB foundation was a greasy, shiny mess.
3. Estee Lauder Double Wear Nude Water Fresh Foundation: With a wet, dewy finish that never dries down, this foundation provided minimal coverage and highlighted all my fine lines and pores. Plus, the packaging did not even come with a pump dispenser! Come on, it's 2017!
4. Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear Camouflage Concealer: Since the Teint Idole Foundation is so amazing, I had very high hopes for this one. Unfortunately, the formulation is so thick, heavy, and weirdly tacky.

5. IT Cosmetics CC Cream: With glowing reviews all over the web, this one was a huge let-down. Despite being surprisingly pigmented, this CC Cream was super streaky and creased like crazy.
6. Too Faced Peach Perfect Comfort Matte Foundation: With a strangely orange color selection, this foundation literally cracked on my face and made me look 20 years older. Enough said?
7. IOPE Air Cushion Matte Longwear Foundation: Touted as the bestselling cushion foundation in Asia, this foundation provided minimal pigmentation and settled, faded, and creased like no tomorrow.

Eyes:
1. Givenchy Fall 2017 L'Autre Noir Collection: With a full range of colors for the lips, eyes, and cheeks, the Givenchy Fall 2017 Collection was a huge miss. The color-changing, black-tinted products were impractical and poorly formulated.
2. Chanel Fall 2017 Collection | "288 Road Movie" Les 4 Ombres Palette: With four gorgeous colors, this palette was sheer and patchy. Chanel eyeshadows can be very hit and miss and unfortunately, this was a miss.
3. Estee Lauder Victoria Beckham Eye Palette: When you charge $100 for an eyeshadow quad, the quality better be through the roof. Unfortunately, the shadows in the palette were sheer and patchy and the color combination is also very strange.

4. Urban Decay Troublemaker Mascara: If you are going to claim a mascara as "sex-proof", it should at least last through a moderate workout session. Unfortunately, the formulation is neither smudge-proof nor waterproof and the spiky silicone applicator was a pain to work with (literally).
5. Rimmel Shake It Fresh Mascara: Packaged in a "shakable" tube that keeps the mascara formulation smooth and clump-free, this mascara was surprisingly disappointing. The formulation provided almost no definition, volume, or length.
6. Lancome Monsieur Big Mascara: Mr. Big? How about Mr. Clumpy? The formulation was so dry I could barely even get any on my lashes.
7. Clarins Stylo 4 Couleurs All-in-One Pen: Conceptually, this four-in-one liner was genius but the formulation was just terrible. None of the eyeliners or lip liner actually set so they smudged like crazy.
8. Too Faced Glitter Pop Peel Off: I don't know about you but I want my eyeliner to stay put. Not only did these glitter liners peel off all on their own (hence the name, I guess) but they were also sheer and super slow-drying.

9. Tarte Summer 2017 Limited Edition Clay Pot Waterproof Shadow Liner: Offering some unique and bold colors, these multi-purpose cream liners were unfortunately streaky and slow-drying.
10. MAC Rollerwheel Liquid Eyeliner: Surprised? I'm not. I mean, what do you actually expect from a liquid liner paired with a pizza cutter applicator?

Lips:
1. Kat Von D Everlasting Lip Liner: Patchy, dry, and extremely cakey, these lip liners kept on breaking, again and again. Another instant throw-away!
2. Too Faced Peach Kiss Moisture Matte Long Wear Lipstick: Beautifully packaged and oh-so-adorable, these lipsticks were extremely chalky and patchy. What a bummer!

3. Burt's Bees Flavour Crystals Lip Balm: Formulated with "flavor crystals" that were essentially sugar bits, these lip balms were just weird! The texture wasn't rough enough to effectively exfoliate the lips and the formulation was also not rich enough to properly moisturize.
4. Glossier Generation G Lipstick in "Crush": Glossier had a pretty good year thanks to all the social media buzz but this sheer matte lipstick is just puzzling. Not really matte and not really moisturizing, the formulation was extremely patchy and uneven. It just did not look good!
5. Dior Diorific Khol Powder Lipstick in "991 Bold Amethyst": Molded with a pointy tip and touted as a revolutionary "powder lipstick", this is a disappointingly ordinary lipstick that's actually pretty patchy and difficult to apply.
6. Givenchy Le Rouge Sculpt in "N°1 Sculpt'in Rouge": A duo-colored lipstick that combined a sheer red and a color-changing black balm, this Le Rouge Sculpt kept on splitting in half. This is a product that definitely could have benefited from some quality assurance.

7. Dior Spring 2017 Rouge Dior Matte Lipsticks: Why Dior? Why? Once again the brand ventured into the grey and brown spectrum with this shade extension (see previous attempts here). I wouldn't have been as disappointed had these shades been nicely pigmented but the lipsticks are patchy, uneven, and extremely unflattering.
8. Dior Diorific Matte Fluid in "008 Intensify": Oh Dior! Why do you do this to me? Housed in an unbelievably gorgeous and precious glass bottle, this dark purple liquid lipstick is so sheer and patchy. The application is a huge headache and after layering almost four coats of color, the finish still looked rough.

Skin & Hair:
1. Lush Big Shampoo: Packed full of chunky sea salt, this shampoo felt super rough on the hair. It managed to strip away every bit of oil and dirt but left things feeling rough and tangly.
2. Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser: Despite being Glossier's top seller, this cleanser just didn't work for me. At first it felt a little stingy on the skin but then I started getting breakouts as well. Since I rarely get adverse reactions from skincare, I wouldn't recommend this to those with sensitive skin.

3. Foreo Espada Blue Light Acne Treatment: An at-home treatment that zaps away acne using blue LED light, this device was great in theory but it just wasn't very practical or effective.
4. Belif First Aid Transforming Peel Off Mask: With a unique formulation that sets and peels like latex, this mask just didn't do anything for me. I'm all for cool and innovative skincare but this one was pure gimmick.
