Tarte | Double Duty Beauty Glide & Go Buttery Lipstick: Review and Swatches
New for Summer 2018, the Double Duty Beauty Glide & Go Buttery Lipstick ($24 CAD for 3.1 g each) from Tarte is a line of super creamy lip colors that promises long-lasting comfort and hydration. Available in six fresh, flattering shades, the lipsticks are packaged in adorable cardboard cases printed with fun, summery designs. I've got reviews and swatches of all six to share with you. Packaging:
The Double Duty Beauty Glide & Go Buttery Lipstick comes in a printed cardboard packaging similar to that of the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Quench Lip Rescue (reviewed here). Each of the six shades has a unique summery print and the inner tubing is made of metal and plastic. Although not as durable, the cardboard element is cute and charming. Unfortunately, I did have issues with the bullet breaking off as the formulation is very soft. Therefore, if you live in a warmer climate (or are planning on toting these around in your bag during the summertime), be very careful with application to avoid ruining the lipstick.

Formulation:
With a super slick and hydrating formulation infused with shea, murumuru, and jojoba, the Glide & Go Buttery Lipsticks are essentially sheer tinted lip balms. They are more pigmented in comparison to the Rainforest of the Sea Quench Lip Rescue but the texture feels identical on the lips, right down to the soft minty sensation. The color is buildable yet the finish maintains a juicy, translucent shine. There's no bunching or patchiness but the colors fade quickly with eating and drinking. I've been a fan of full-coverage lipsticks for years but I've really gotten more into sheer lipsticks recently and these are just perfect. They feel comfortable on the lips and I don't have to worry when eating or drinking because these fade almost completely with no weird patching or smudging so all I have to do is re-apply after meals to ensure a fresh new look.

Bare Bud: This is a sheer pinky beige. The lip swatches below look a little pinker than it actually wears because I was trying some of the brighter shades beforehand (so there was some residual color on my lips). Nevertheless, the color is not too ashy or pale.
Rosy View: This is a soft dusty rose. The color is super flattering and lovely!
Pink Tutu: A cheery warm pink, this shade is summery without being too bright.
Berry Cruiser: My personal favorite of the six, Berry Cruiser is a warm rose that reminds me of "Jean Queen" from Lipstick Queen (reviewed here). It's a little brighter in comparison but it's still got that "my lips but better" vibe.
Melon Punch: A brighter coral pink that turned out a lot more wearable than I expected, Melon Punch is the most summery out of the bunch.
Tangerine Target: I can't stand orange lips but this soft muted orange is actually quite flattering. Also, this is the only shade with a subtle sprinkling of shimmers.

Here is a collage of all six shades for comparison. I rarely say this about a lipstick collection but I think all six shades here are actually super wearable and flattering. My picks are Rosy View, Pink Tutu, and Berry Cruiser. Overall, this is a beautiful range of sheer lipsticks. The ultra-soft formulation is incredibly comfortable and hydrating but it is also a bit problematic as the bullet is prone to breaking. Nevertheless, I'd still really recommend these but just be cautious during application.
