Best of 2016 | Makeup & Fragrances
From the cushion-everything to the highlighting craze, 2016 saw a lot of trends come and go but today I wanted to share with you a list of my favorite products that will always have a place in my heart (and my makeup drawer). In today's post you will find a collection of my most adored products I've reviewed this year. To find out what made the list, click......
Best of 2016 | Makeup & Fragrances
Highlighters | Foundations | Concealers:
1. Estee Lauder x Victoria Beckham "Modern Mercury" Highlighter: My heart almost skipped a beat when I got my hands on the Estee Lauder and Victoria Beckham collaboration and this highlighter from the line is everything! From the classy-edgy packaging to the dreamy rose gold sheen, this highlighter is pricey but so well worth it.
2. La Prairie Light Fantastic Cellular Concealing & Brightening Eye Treatment: A liquid highlighter/concealer pen similar to the YSL Touche Eclat, this La Prairie gem is lightly pink. It provides undereye coverage and brightens the whole eye area, perfect for that "no makeup" makeup look.
3. Guerlain Meteorites Voyage Compact: This is a stunning powder compact that's somewhere between a setting powder and a subtle allover illuminator. What you see are actually hundreds of tiny Guerlain Meteorites pearls pressed to form a Monet-esque mosaic.
4. Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Cushion: The cushion trend was pretty over-done in 2016 but the Lancome cushion foundation surprised me with its full-coverage formulation with an SPF 50 sun-protection!

Palettes:
1. NYC Lovatics by Demi Lovato Natural Eyeshadow Palette: Hands down the best drugstore palette of 2016. For $8, the shadows are beyond impressive!
2. Dior Fall 2016 Skyline Eyeshadow Palettes: I like to think that I value substance over style but the design of these Dior palettes is nothing short of amazing! Each shadow is pressed with a delicate lace pattern that mimics the architecture of the iconic Eiffel Tower. Plus, the purple/pink palette is actually very well-fromulated as well!
3. Lise Watier Holiday 2016 Trio Arabesque Illuminating Powders: Lise Watier never ceases to impress and this highlighter trio is so good! You get a champagne, a gold, and a rose gold and all three are buttery smooth and packed with silky fine shimmers!
4. Chanel Holiday 2016 Architectonic Eyeshadow Palette: Chanel released quite a few hits this year but it's this eyeshadow palette that made me go "wow". This beautiful palette holds five gray-tone shadows just drenched with pigments. Curious? You need to see the swatches!
5. Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Eyeshadow Palette: Tarte can be quite hit and miss but this neutral palette is all kinds of wonderful! The shadows literally feel like butter and they are so pigmented.
6. Too Faced Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Palette: Too Faced is the queen when it comes to creating highly covetable products and this palette was notoriously popular. I mean who doesn't want peachy neutrals that actually smell like peaches?

Eyeshadows | Makeup Tools | Eyeliner:
1. Clarins Waterproof Eyeshadow: I'm usually not a fan of cream shadows but these come in a sanitary squeeze tube and the formulation is so pigmented and long-lasting!
2. Teeez Spectrum of Stars Eyeshadows: Although I don't love the over-the-top bauble-y packaging, these Teeez shadows have the most beautiful and subtle duo chrome effect. The texture is also so creamy and smooth.
3. Real Techniques Brush Cleansing Palette: I thought this thing was going to be a gimmick until it totally changed my brush cleaning routine. The firm little silicone teeth make cleaning my brushes so much easier. If you are lazy like me and need a little motivation to wash your makeup brushes on a regular basis, get this!
4. Urban Decay Perversion Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner: The Kat Von D Tatto Liner has been my go-to for the past few years but I've really warmed up to this one from Urban Decay. This isn't the perfect liquid liner (and neither is the Kat Von D one) but it's very good!

Fragrances:
1. L'Occitane Arlesienne Holiday 2016 Edition: Housed in a rather plain bottle, the 2016 Arlesienne took me by surprise with its soft floral and milky almond sweetness.
2. Givenchy Dahlia Divin Le Nectar de Parfum: An incredibly warm and rich winter scent, this Givenchy perfume has a cap encrusted in real gold leaf!
