Christmas Tree Manicure Tutorial

Hey guys, I am squeezing in a quick manicure tutorial for the Christmas tree nail art post I did earlier this month. So if you looking for a last minute Christmas manicure idea, why not give this a try!
Before starting your manicure, smooth out the edges of your nails with a fine nail filer, then rub your cuticles generously with either hand lotion or cuticle oil. Before you apply your polish, make sure to wipe the lotion/oil off of your nails either with an alcohol pad or a cotton ball soaked in some polish remover. This helps clean the surface of your nails, removing any oil and dirt.

Christmas Tree Manicure: Nail Polish Canada Holiday Nail Art Challenge

Hey everyone, I recently found out from Chantal at Chantal's Corner that Nail Polish Canada was holding a Holiday Nail Art Challenge (its not too late to enter).
There are three challenges and "Christmas Decoration" is the week two challenge. I decided to do a Christmas Tree manicure. To see what I used and what I submitted to the week one challenge, click......

Feathery Fall Nails: Manicure Featuring Feather Water Decal Nail Stickers

Disclaimer: The water decal stickers were provided for review.
In the continual celebration of the Vancouver gloomy Fall weather, I have a cheery and bright manicure featuring some feather water decal stickers ($4.73)) from Born Pretty Store. These stickers are actually from the giant set of feather nail art stickers I reviewed back in May and again featured in August (it's incredibly the variety of feather designs the set includes).

*Update: It appears that Born Pretty Store no longer sells the giant sheet but now sells each feather design separately for $1.99. You still get 20 individual decals but the deal isn't as sweet anymore.

Ruby Slippers Manicure: Julep "Molly" & China Glaze "Ring in the Red"

Hi guys, I got a simple manicure for you guys today. Back in August I really felt like doing some classic holiday red nails so I paired my favorite red from Julep called "Molly" with a spectacular and super underrated glitter from China Glaze called "Ring in the Red". The combination is super festive, check out more pics by clicking......

The Royal Kittens: Manicure Featuring Water Decal Stickers

Disclaimer: Nail polish was provided for review.
As you may or may not know, I love cats! I had a cat when I was around 11 or 12 years old but gradually became allergic to her dander, so sadly, I had to give her away. So I guess today's manicure featuring nail art water decal stickers from Born Pretty Store will be dedicated to her. To see a close-up and the color I used, click......

"With Love" from China Glaze: Review and Swatches

Disclaimer: Nail polish was provided for review.
"With Love" from China Glaze ($6.95 + free shipping from Nail Polish Canada) is what I call a true red- not too orange, not too brown, and not too pink. It's just a simple and classic red creme that every polish lover should have in her stash. To see some swatches and a review of the formula, click......

"Frostbite" from China Glaze: Review and Swatches

Disclaimer: Nail polish was provided for review.
Nail Polish Canada sent me a few of its popular China Glaze and Orly shades to review and  "Frostbite"($6.95 + free Canadian shipping) from China Glaze is one of them.
I am generally not a big fan of metallic and frost polishes because they can be quite tricky to work with, but I have to admit that "Frostbite" totally took me by surprise! It is a very bright electric blue frost and it really catches the eyes. To see some swatches and a review of the formula, click......

Nail Polish Pedant: Glimmers of Green

My order from Sun and Moon Crafts finally came a few weeks ago and I ordered a few pendants to decorate. The metal pedant tray cost $1 and the glass dome was $0.25.

For this design, I used Nfu-Oh #40, "Make a Spectacle" from China Glaze, hand placed glitter pieces, and "Knockout" (black base) from Revlon. The end result was beyond beautiful and I am extremely happy with it.

If you live in the US, I strongly encourage you to order from Sun and Moon Crafts for jewellery supplies as the store is very organized and easily accessible compared to ebay shops. However, if you order from Canada, shipping can be a bit much. My $20 order had a $10 shipping fee.

Anyhow, I hope you enjoyed this post, come back for more nail polish jewellery designs!

Glitter Polish Swatch and Reviews: "Fairy Dust", "Nova", "Make A Spectacle", & "Vanessa"

Hello everyone, hope y'all are doing well on this beautiful Tuesday. Today I want to share swatches and reviews of a few glitter polishes that I own.
I am a huge fan of glitter topcoats because not only do they look mesmerizing, they are often big manicure savers because you can simply top old manicures or not so spectacular base colors with one of these guys, and everything ends up looking alright. To see detailed review of each of the above shades, click......

Jasmine's Semi-Annual Makeup Empties

I very rarely finish makeup items since I have too many things to weed though. A few of these things here I actually finished and a couple I am simply throwing out because they are too old or are just horrible products. I noticed a few of y'all found the title (semi-annual) of my empty posts very amusing, but I have no idea what else to call it, so I shall continue the intrigue of a possible mattress sale, hehe. To read more about each, click......

Sparkling Robin's Eggs: "Dianna" from Julep Review

A while ago, "Dianna" from Julep was on sale so I nabbed it right away because I have been looking for a color like this. It is described as a "mint green creme" but it really isn't very green. I would say this is a slightly muted/smokier version of a robin's egg blue. To see a close up and the full review, click......

Froggy Nails Featuring "Leah" from Julep

An old friend of mine came over yesterday for some relaxing girly time. I wanted to give her a cute manicure and decided on doing a froggy design using my new "Leah" polish from Julep that I got during their April Fool's Day sale. I think the design came out fairly well and this is definitely a look that's perfect for frog lovers of all ages! To see the a close-up and the colors I used, click......

Picnic in The Park Nails Featuring Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips

I have stashed in my collection the Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips in "Checker Out". The pattern reminds me of a picnic table cloth, so I thought it is very appropriate for the spring. And to jazz up the look, I did a glam accent nail. To see a close-up and a list of products used, click......

Purple Ombre Nails

Toy Story Green Alien Nails

I was in the mood to do my nails and went to pinterest for some inspirations. I came upon this adorable black and white polka dot on teal design by Lucy's Stash. I replicated the look but decided I would get a bit more creative by adding a temporary tattoo design on the ring finger. I picked the green alien from Toy Story because its googly eyes kind of matched the polka dots.

Dragon Egg Nails

School is out for a week, so I got some free time on my hands. Thus, I invited an old friend over and did her nails for her. I used one coat of China Glaze's "Deviantly Daring" and one coat of Essie's "Shine of the Times" to create an enchanting dragon egg effect.
